Hello! I'm a lover of dogs, books, plants, and vintage style, and writing letters and sending packages through the mail has always been one of my favorite ways to express myself and give my friends and family a pick-me-up when they need it. I'm currently a student and hope that doing some swaps will be a fun way to relieve stress and meet people who share my interests.
Hi everyone, I'm so sorry but apparently a few of my more recent swap letters have had issues in the mail, so I won't be accepting any new swaps until I figure out this problem and get resends out to everyone! To anyone waiting on a letter from me, I am so sorry and I promise I am on top of the situation. Thank you for your patience!
Just as a general rule I will never knowingly not send a swap, so if you don't receive something from me let me know ASAP and I will resend. I'll even include an extra if I make you wait, so please be patient with me!
All ratings and swaps are up to date as of 11-15-2020. I try to stay active on here as much as I can, but I'm all too aware that sometimes life catches up with me and I get busy, so please know that if it is after the above date and you are waiting on me for something, I will get to you as soon as I can. I usually check in about every 2 weeks, so if you think I missed you and it's been over 2 weeks feel free to message me and bring it to my attention.
Also I am very open to private swapping and pen pals, so if you are looking for a casual, nerdy penpal please shoot me a message!
It's hard to pick exact favorites for any category, but I love adventure books, thrillers or mystery novels, and generally have a love for literary classics! Some of my all-time favorite books are:
-Watership Down by Richard Adams
-Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut
-Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
-The Girl Who Owned a City by O.T. Nelson
-The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
-The Opposite of Fate by Amy Tan
-The Lord of the Rings Trilogy + The Hobbit by Tolkien
-The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling
-Uzumaki by Junji Ito
-Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
I watch a LOT of movies, so these won't even begin to cover it but I'll try my best. I usually like thrillers again, documentaries, animated movies, classics, and I'll never say no to a quality rom-com!:
-Waitress
-Rafiki
-The Handmaiden
-Legally Blonde
-Pan's Labyrinth
-The Half of It
-The Babysitter
-Dangal
-Pretty much any Studio Ghibli film
-The Star Wars films, of course
Though I love TV shows, without cable I mostly rely on streaming services and I'm just more of a movie person in general, so I am very picky about my favorite shows!
-Avatar: The Last Airbender
-Community
-Parks and Recreation
-Buffy the Vampire Slayer
-Star Trek
-She-Ra and the Princesses of Power
This will be one of the shorter sections, not because I don't love music but just because I enjoy a lot of random songs from totally different genres and don't have many consistent favorites:
-Orishas (Latin Hip-Hop)
-Hozier
-Taylor Swift(don't judge me)
-Jon Bellion
-21 Pilots
-The Donnas
-girl in red
-Jimi Hendrix
Alright, not sure exactly how to describe my favorite crafts, but suffice it to say I love all kinds of art and just love learning to make things! I'm not very advanced in anything mostly due to my age, but I love sewing, knitting, drawing, painting, and just learning to make random things like DIY planters or homemade coffee syrups.
While I love making lists of favorite books or movies, I feel like a lot of information doesn't fit in simple lists, so I decided to emulate Maria from Sound of Music and make a list of things that just bring me joy!
-Pressed flowers
-Old books
-Wax seals
-Glassware
-Candles
-CDs
-Plants
-Flowy skirts
-Fitted pants
-Vests
-Big, cozy pullover hoodies
-Macaroni and cheese
-Reading and eating pastries
-Hot cocoa with way too many marshmallows
-Exercising
-Adding veggies or fruit to my comfort meals
-Watching movies with my dog
-Brown paper packages tied up with string(what can I say, Maria has good taste!)
-Shiny knickknacks or rocks
-Empty notebooks
-Bathtubs
I'd describe my preferred aesthetic as somewhere between dark academia, gremlincore, cottagecore, and just plain old vintage, with my favorite style emulating late 1800s-early 1900s fashion. Honestly though, while I do have certain aesthetics I love, I don't really strive to "live" those aesthetics, I like to mix them in with my normal, nerdy college kid lifestyle. I feel like the best part of liking vintage or cottagecore type style is watching Netflix on the couch while wearing a full-length Edwardian skirt, or writing with a quill pen by candlelight while wearing jeans and listening to Doja Cat. It's like I get to bring new life and power to clothes or items that have a history of their own.
Anyway, sorry I tend to ramble! In general, I just appreciate people who are passionate: about style, about learning, and about being kind and accepting towards others.

āI decided, very early on, just to accept life unconditionally; I never expected it to do anything special for me, yet I seemed to accomplish far more than I had ever hoped. Most of the time it just happened to me without my ever seeking it.ā ā Audrey Hepburn
