About Me

Hi! I'm Charlotte and I'm a 41 yo mom to 3 amazing teens who are 20, 18, and 16. I am the Executive Director of a small organization in the Denver metro area dedicated to serving individuals impacted by suicide (loss survivors, attempt survivors, and impacted family members, friends, and caregivers) and I absolutely love what I do.

(If you have been impacted by suicide and are looking for support, we provide free peer support groups via Zoom to support people all over the country (and the world) so check us out at http://www.hope-group.org. We'd love to have you join us at one of our meetings. If you're currently feeling suicidal, please know that there are people out there that care about you (like me!) and hope and help are available 24/7/365. Please reach out. Please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at (800) 273-8255 or text HELLO to 741-741)

I am so excited that I found this site as I love sending and receiving mail and packages. I take a lot of time to select the items that I send so I hope that you do the same. I know it's been a while since I've swapped, but life had kept me pretty busy with the three kidlets and starting up The Hope Group but I'm very excited to be back on swap-bot to meet new people and exchange more fun postcards and packages now that I have a bit more time in my life to do so.

I always, always, ALWAYS send out my swaps so if for some reason you didn't receive my letter/card/package, please contact me so I can resend it. Additionally, I rate upon receipt. So if you don't have a rating from me, I haven't gotten your mail yet. If you haven't met the swap requirements or the deadline, I will absolutely rate you a 1. Swappers who can't follow directions or make it to the PO on time shouldn't sign up to swap as it ruins swap-bot for others. That said, should the package show up or you'd like to resend to reflect the requirements of the swap, I am always happy to re-rate. (I don't mean to sound grumpy there, but since I make a concentrated effort to get my swaps out on time every time, I hope you do the same!)

Favorite Music

I enjoy pop music from the 80's - the 2020s, musicals, TV/movie soundtracks, alternative, rock, classical music...pretty much anything really except gangster rap, hardcore metal, and jazz.

Favorite Movies

To boil it down a lot (because I really, really love movies), I love comedy, romance, adventure, action, fantasy, sci-fi, and drama but some of my favorite movies are:

Seven, Lucky # Slevin, Rent, Serenity, Legally Blonde, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, Dogma, the Die Hard series, the Hannibal Lecter series, Good Will Hunting, Awakenings, The Librarian trilogy, National Treasure 1 & 2, Oceans 11, 12 and 13, Geostorm, The Core, and Jane White is Sick and Twisted. (ha! I'm updating my profile from 2012, and I just realized nothing really has changed that much and I don't really have much of anything that has come out recently to add to the list!)

Favorite Books

I don't have a lot of time for reading lately with work, but I loved Perfectioneur by Khara Crosswaite Brindle and am currently reading Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman and The Road Back to You: An Enneagram Journey to Self-Discovery by Ian Morgan Cron & Suzanne Stabile. I don't think I've read any fiction works in 5 - 7 years, so if you have any suggestions, I'm definitely open to them! I loved Sophie Kinsella and Meg Cabot when I was taking the time to read for funsies though. (Although I do find reading the non-fiction books I read fun!)

Favorite Television

7th Heaven, Angel, Bones, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dexter, Doctor Who, Dollhouse, Ellen (the sitcom), ER, Firefly, Friends, Gilmore Girls, Glee, House, How I Met Your Mother, Jane the Virgin, Lucifer, Modern Family, New Girl, Roseanne, Secret Life of the American Teenager, Six Feet Under, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Switched at Birth and Tosh.0

I don't watch all of them all of the time obviously or I'd never have time to be on here! lol

Favorite Podcasts

Suicide 'n Stuff, Doug Loves Movies, TED Talks Daily, and RISK

Favorite Crafts

I enjoy sewing and quilt making, making buttons (pins) and key fobs for my etsy shop that 100% of the proceeds benefit my nonprofit (if you want to check that out it's www.talanaestreasures.com), and I also enjoy card making. I also enjoy scrapbooking, so some things I'd love include 8 1/2 x 11 scrapbooking paper, 3D foam squares, scrapbooking chalk, stamps and multicolored card stock. (I'd like these things only if you already have them in your stash and don't need/use them, please don't go out to purchase these unless the requirements of a swap).

I also love coloring with colored pencils (but only the Crayola brand). I know that there are "better brands" out there but Crayola is my favorite - probably because it takes me back to my childhood lol

Finally, I enjoy doing random crafts I find on Pinterest. I have never been so inspired than by the projects I find on there!

Additional Likes

I love postcards that are Parisian-themed (especially the Eiffel Tower), faeries, cats, owls, and kawaii (esp. Hello Kitty).

I prefer for them to be sent naked, stamped, and written on unless you are sending me cards you think I'd enjoy sending to others or the swap specifically states otherwise.

My favorite colors are pink, lime green, and black (especially together).

I love nail polish and am always on the lookout for more (a gal can never have too much polish!) I love OPI, Rescue Beauty Lounge, Butter London and Sally Hansen polishes the best because of their wear times, chip resistance, and the ease of their application. However I love ALL polishes lol so if it's something shimmery, duotone, glittery, or just plain fun, I'm down with it! I'd love to get a true silver holo as I just haven't had the opportunity to pick one up yet. I like pinks and purples for my fingers. I'll wear just about anything on my toes lol

I'm always on the lookout for the following: blank notecards, washi tape, kawaii items (esp. frogs & owls), scrapbook/craft paper, 4 x 6 postcards naked, stamped and written on (they fit best in my album), scented wax tarts, 4 x 6 postcards that fit my above likes to send to others, touristy postcards from local area attractions (Particularly if they're cheesy and/or listed on http://www.roadsideamerica.com. I'd love a story about you visiting there on the back too!), stickers (no teacher's stickers though please), Baby Ruth candy bars and Bugles crunchy snacks, colored pens, especially pink, lime green & purple, easy recipes (I'm not the best cook. I especially appreciate tried and true OAMC (once a month cooking), Instant Pot and slow cooker recipes), faeries, nail polish, Doctor Who and Star Trek: The Next Generation stuff (I'm a bit of a geek...ok a big geek (and a nerd lol) but who's keeping track, right?)

Dislikes

Please don't send stuff that looks like zero effort has been put into it, 4 x 6 index cards with photos glued to them (that is NOT a postcard btw), or folded letter sets. Lightly used items are ok, but please don't send dirty or heavily used, if you didn't want them, I probably don't either. (Again I know this sounds grumpy, but even in the limited number of swaps I've been in, you'd be surprised at what has shown up at my house! I put a lot of time and thought into my swaps, I hope you do the same please!)

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my profile and try to fit my preferences into the swap! I know that was information overload. I figure the more you know, right? ;) I really appreciate it. hugs I hope you have a great day and remember YOU MATTER!

Comment: Do not feel bad that you give your kids meds for ADHD. My brother and sister in law have a child with ADHD and if they did NOT medicate, he would be dangerous. I have seen the before and after and I agree with it if it is needed!

Comment: thank you for this absolutely generous resend. So what happened in Casa Bonita that is memorable?
Response: As a family, we just always have a really great time when we go there. It is so much fun. But about six months before my best friend died, we went to Casa Bonita for her birthday she came up from Tucson Arizona and we re-created that South Park episode was telling you about so it's just a really really great place and I have a lot of fun there.

Just a heads up, @yamikolynn who owes you a swap from years ago, is back active on SB. Maybe you can finally get your swap.
