About Me

So Swap-bot flakers and disappointers have finally broken me. 2021 and 2022 = me being flaked (didn't receive anything) on a full 75% of the swaps I joined. True, I didn't join many because I was trying to be careful. However, no matter how hard I tried (including dropping out of many swaps at the last minute for fear of being matched with someone with questionable swapping behavior), too many people had too many reasons why they didn't send, why they didn't resend, why they have problems with the USPS. Meanwhile, 100% of the swaps I sent were received. As someone who understands analytics as part of my job, I had to face the facts that Swap-bot is no longer attracting top tier swappers. There are exceptions to that rule, of course. I just don't seem to get those exceptions as swap partners.

If we've formed a mail swap bond over the years, you can find me at SendSomething - they're found on Facebook now.

  • Fruit and flower scents are my favorite. I seem to be sensitive to lemon scent (even though I love it) - it aggravates my asthma
  • Handmade, aromatic soaps
  • I don't have a bathtub so as cool as bath bombs are, I just use them to make my drawers smell good ;-)

Etsy Favorites/Amazon Wishlist

If you're in an Etsy Favorites or Amazon Wishlist swap with me and you can find one of my items from those lists for less money (Tim Holtz items, for example), go for it! Please make sure it's an exact match, though. Thanks!

Favorite Crafts

  • Quilting
  • Collage
  • Art journals, junk journals
  • Die cuts, Cricut
  • Paper crafts (I'm addicted to Treasure Books' YouTube tutorials right now)
  • ATCs
  • Handmade envelopes

  • Anything with sparkles

I Like

  • My favorite color is blue, particularly aquamarine (blue leaning just a tiny bit toward green).
  • Blank notecards w/envelopes
  • Retro design, especially 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s
  • Letter sets, notecards, vintage stationery - I've been lucky to come across so much lovely vintage stationery lately at thrift stores and estate sales
  • Sparkles, glitter
  • Celestial themed paper items
  • Vintage book pages, especially non-English
  • Your artwork in the themes of bees, celestial, mail, pixies, 1980s
  • Fabric scraps or squares - 1", 2", 3"... up to 6"
  • Animals, especially dogs, sassy cats, squirrels, sea turtles, raccoons, bees (anything with these themes)
  • Die cuts in any of my favorite themes
  • Ephemera from the 70s and 80s
  • Paper ephemera of almost any kind for junk journals, collaging and paper crafting (however, I don't create journals from junk, even though that's how junk journals started; no trash, please)
  • Sunflowers, peonies, lilies of the valley
  • Whimsy (nothing made for children, please)
  • Milk chocolate - on its own, with nuts, with crispies, with creamy centers (Cadbury Eggs!), Reese's peanut butter cups - especially the minis!
  • Gummies - bears, worms, mini bears, peach slices. But not gummy sours.
  • Black tea (including flavored black teas) - store brand black teas are usually very good.
  • A quirky sense of humor
  • Pixies (with the little hat, no wings, a little mischievous)
  • Stickers (not reward, kids, alphabet or free, please), I recently discovered AliExpress - how did I survive without that website?
  • Quilts
  • Swatch watches (really anything 1980s-themed)
  • Fabric - bright patterns, Laurel Birch, Kaffe Fassett, florals, dog- or cat-themed, Christmas-themed, lime green, turquoise, mustard
  • Vintage Barbie
  • Mid-century modern
  • The 1980s were my decade - big hair, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, neon colors, mini skirts, spike heels (reason for my 2012 foot surgery), rockabilly, new wave, thinking I could have that much fun forever
  • Art glass, glass art, stained glass
  • Thrift shops (I'm gaga over thrift shops!)
  • Michigan, my Michigan (anything Michigan themed, Kalamazoo-themed, Lake Michigan-themed)
  • Paris/France/French
  • Ireland/Irish
  • Belgium
  • Marvel super heroes (different than DC super heroes - I'm a super hero snob and only like Marvel super heroes)
  • Kindness
  • Pens (Nothing too nice, I work with clients and my writing utensils disappear fast)
  • Michael's, Hobby Lobby or Joann gift cards (for swaps with a specific $ amount - like stocking stuffer, holiday gift swaps, etc.)

I Don't Like

Please don't send me: * Anything that would make a young child or tween happy. I like cute things, but nothing that's specifically for kids * Items you've received and don't want unless it's a match for something listed in my "I Like" section or matches the swap I joined * Items that should be thrown away because they're dirty, damaged or actual trash * Alphabet stickers, phrase stickers, word or phrase washi

I also don't want anything to do with * Politics * Racism * Religious messages * Animal cruelty (even jokes about) * Crude humor * Gratuitous nudity * Sales pitches * Dark chocolate * Green tea, herbal tea, rooibos tea * Gum of any kind (I have a lot of fillings and crowns) * Stickers that are meant for children - very basic design, limited intricacy, cartoonish characterization, are obviously for children
* Gingham fabric (checks) * Disney - it's just not for me

Miscellaneous

  • I love used, in good condition items IF (and only if) they are among the things I've listed as liking or loving.
  • Mini journals, handmade 'zines, ephemera for collaging
  • Vintage or themed measuring tapes (I can never find one when I need one, not the paper kind, please)
  • Handmade envelopes - some of you are so talented!
  • Any flat item in the following themes: Bees, sea turtles, Paris, squirrels, raccoons

Comment: Tracie, the stitching on the bags is so beautiful. I have my momโ€™s old Husqvarna sewing machine that has the ability to do fancy stitching, but the fanciest Iโ€™ve gotten is zig-zag. Thanks for a wonderful swap.
Response: Thanks for your comments about the stitching. I enjoyed the opportunity to try some of the fancier stitches on my sewing machine :-)

Comment: This whole envelope is wonderful! The stickers are amazing, the scraps are super fun, and my MIL may have tried to steal the tea bag treated photo, haha! Plus, I don't know if I'll be able to use that note card. It's too pretty! โ™ฅ Also, I swear, this is the third time I've been reminded of Thor: Ragnarok in as many days. I feel like I need to re-watch it. And, while I don't know much about the NBA, I totally understand. My partner got into Haikyuu around when the Olympics were on and we watched Every Single Match of volleyball~ โ™ฅ
Response: So glad you liked it. And, yes, the answer is always that you should rewatch Thor: Ragnarok and not just for Taika Waititi's voiced character. There's also the insanely good Jeff Goldlum. Now I must rewatch it! Nice being your swap partner!
