As I'm sure most of you have experienced, gas prices are ridiculously getting higher. We went to the gas station the other day and paid $3.75 a gallon. $50 didn't even fill up the tank! (Then again we do drive a boat.) So I was trying to think of all the things you would buy with $3.75. In this swap you will write a list of 30 things that you could buy with just $3.75. (Example: a bottle of shampoo, 1 gallon of milk, a couple of tacos from Taco Bell...) You will each have one partner. Be creative with your list! Let's see how everyone would spend that $3.75! :) This swap is for everyone, including newbies. International welcome.

incidentally, half the time the milk has to be on sale to get it for that... it's been $3.99 here lately... (yea, i understand the point... i'm just sayin...lol)

I cant join this swap because I will get too red in the face! Here in the UK we are paying Â£1.10 ($2.20) per LITRE compared to your 47p (almost $1) per litre, so Please dont feel too hard done by! It means we are paying 3 times what you are! It costs my DH Â£60 ($120) to fill our very modest car up! Im not having a go at anyone, just pointing out the HUGE difference!

hoppyloo, you make a very, very good point. Here in the western hemisphere we have paid less than in Europe for a very long time. Hopefully someday we will catch up with Europe's much more advanced environmental awareness/ policies. What aggravates me is how we have the technology to use much, much less oil (less demand, of course, would naturally drive the price down), but corporate-driven politics have fought so hard to keep them unavailable to the general public. It is just sad, really :(

Gas here (Vancouver Island BC) is 1.30 a litre. Thats 5.20 (ish) for a US Gallon. YUCK! My little car (VW Golf) costs a fortune to fill up, we haven't filled it up in ages.

They say gas up here will be 2.50 per litre by the year 2012. That would mean in the US, it will reach close to 10.00 a gallon! Who the heck is going to be able to drive a non hybrid car? Or a car at all?
