Response: Happy to hear that you'll have fun with the stickers. I have to admit I've never made them from photos so your brilliant swap offered great inspiration to spend far too much time on the computer and finally a use for that slightly creepy doll photo. (I have a studio full of stickers that didn't make the cut! Addictive...)
Response: Thank you. The return addy label is by @katier from another swap. It's a favorite!
Response: Wow. This was sent in late May. Please let me know if it took so long to reach you (maybe I did a bit too much to the envie?) or if you were just a bit busy. No worries--it's just good to know if mail to other countries gets held up along the way! Regardless thanks for rating.
Response: Thank you. It was fun to make it for you!
Response: So glad you like it! Thank you for the inspiration!
Response: Great project Tanglecrafts! I really loved the variety of pages that were sent for this one.
Response: Thank you! I'm going to miss having Polaroid film for these projects. It's perfect for finding serendiptiy!
Response: Thank you so much. I particularly enjoyed taking the photos of the farm stand and sunflowers for you. i drive by them all the time and the project and the guidance of your profile made me stop and have a great little shoot!
Response: So glad you like it. Your profile offered great inspiration. I hope you have a lovely time filling the pages!
Response: Thank you. It's a fun project!
Response: Thank you. I had so much fun creating this--from the papers to hiding bits in the little pocket. Honestly, Moleskines are so fun and I can't imagine not cherishing an art adorned M!
Response: Thank you. This was inspiring and I love seeing the many different approaches to "serendipity". Glad you liked my postcard/note.
Response: Thank you. Windows are such a fun subject!
Response: Thank you. Enjoy!
Response: Thanks for looking at my space and for the heart.
Response: Oh good! I thought multicolored cancellations would suit you! As for the artistamps, they are my first. I'm terribly low tech so they are originals--bulletproof ink drawings applied with a brush pen and then watercolor, lettering and hand punched perforations. I'll look at the leftovers in the studio and see if there is anything I'm forgetting!
Response: Thank you too. Can you imagine all the Chinese food I ate to amass those fortunes? lol I'm loving this collaboration, seeing your work and yes, the pockets are a joy!
Response: Thanks! I hope the rest of the studio is soon as colorful as the cabinets!
Response: Glad you liked it. Taking foot photos was more challenging than I expected!
Response: Thank you for the rating and the heart.
Response: So glad you liked it. I'm very fond of the photo and the little journey that got me to that spot. I printed it on a professional Epson printer on 285 gsm Hahnemuhle Torchon paper. I thought the texture might take the bumps and dings of the postal service better than a flat paper (that was bound to show up with curled and bent edges). Besides I just like the velvety feel! Glad you did too!
Response: That's impressive. It's so delicate that I thought it stood a good chance of getting torn to bits but couldn't resist. Pls let me know when my "back up" piece arrives. I have a good story about mailing it.
Response: Thank you for the rating and for participating in the swap.
Response: No worries! I appreciate the rating and am so glad little bear has a happy home.
Response: Glad you liked the postcards and that the stamp survived the trip in it's bit of wrapping on the postcard!
Response: Thank you! I love the museo de fridge!
Response: Absolutely--fun project! (You have no idea how much film I blow through with hip shots....) Looking forward to the next round (and expect to have yours out by Thursday).
Response: You are very welcome. Glad you liked the surprises.
Response: Yay! Glad it made the journey!
Response: Thank you. I'm so glad the tape held and the little one made the journey too!
Response: You're quite welcome. I really enjoyed the swap too. Thank you so much for participating and sharing your artist papers!
Response: Oh good! I wanted to make something special for you and tried to work from your profile with the colors and imagery but was still a bit unsure. I found the letterpress card used as part of the front cover at a little print shop that just opened in town. The hand painted sumi papers that wrap around the notebook and keep it closed are strong because of the fibers but easy enough to cut or tear (depending on what you prefer). I'm glad to hear they made the trip intact!
Response: Thanks for joining! Glad you liked the shot list booklet. It was a fun little project. (Still thankful I didn't get cited for trespassing on that last motel shot. I look innocent and it helps....) Let's hope customs didn't zap the film and it develops nicely!
Response: Glad you liked the photo! It's definitely a personal favorite and I appreciate your feedback.
Response: Thank you so much. I really love painting papers and enjoyed working with some reds for you!
Response: I'm happy to hear you liked your package. Thank you so much for letting me know it arrived safely.
Response: Yes, I think of naked mail as an amusement for all the postal workers on the way. Glad you both had a good laugh!
Response: Thank you for the feedback. I haven't done street portraits since I left NYC so it was a really fun swap for me too. So glad you liked them!
Response: Wonderful! I'm so happy to hear they arrived and you like them. Thanks so much for rating and for the heart.
Response: So glad you liked the photos and thank you for the heart. I had fun taking the photos for you, especially setting up the still life! (The great envie components are from swaps--the Polaroid return address label is by katier and the stamps were carved by stringofviolets. I love them!)
Response: Wonderful! I'm happy to have added a bit of brightness to your day/mailbox. I haven't been working with purple much lately and playing with your colors and themes was very inspiring!
Response: It was such lovely fun to create for you and I am so thankful to hear you liked this bit of blue!
PS Keep drawing, practicing and joyfully doodling Helen! (My sketchbooks have some really terrible stuff in between the good ones....)
Response: You're welcome! Thanks for rating!
Response: Wonderful! I got the panda idea from your profile. This was my first attempt at zentangle art and definitely fun to do.
Response: Great to hear it arrived safely! I'm a sign junkie and photograph them a lot, especially while traveling so I couldn't resist trying to send one along in the post. (The PO clerk insisted it would break because of the machinery but I asked if we could "try"....)
Response: Glad that it arrived so quickly and that you liked it! I love both colors so it was fun to create it for you!
Response: You are very welcome. I enjoyed seeing your work online as well!
Response: Glad you liked it. As for tagging I moved from Chelsea to the east village when my daughter was nine months old and was feeling very mundane/housewifey. So I took to drawing sticks and then tagging around the village when I took my daughter for strolls. I also started doing the blind contour street portraits and tagging them or giving them away and did the same with instant photos (sharing them). (It was fun doing them again for this swap!) It kept us both happy and I met some great people and street artists along the way. Besides the adrenaline kept me awake! (This makes me miss NYC so much!)
Response: Yeah--they arrived. The canvas card was truly an experiment and I was so pleased with the result (and a bit worried it wouldn't make the journey but couldn't resist trying)! Glad you like them!
Response: So happy you liked it. It was fun to try something new for this swap!
Response: Wonderful! I enjoyed making it for you and am glad you liked the altered photo/SX-70 card too!
Response: Glad you liked the cards! We are lucky enough to have a shop owner here who has an affection for Tin Tin and they have lovely things so it was perfect to be partnered with you! I got a card with a fill in as well and it was blank. I wonder if they were tempted or just didn't notice it?
Response: Hope they made a few folks smile along the way too!
Response: Yes, I wanted you to like it all--especially since I just mailed a tag to you! The stickers were fun draw and color. So happy you liked them!
Response: That made me smile! My little one likes good mail days too. Glad you liked the photos.
Response: Thank you. I haven't carved in a bit so I had a really great time doing this for you. I am very fond of the slice of pie carving and never would have done that without your themes. That's what I love about swapping. It's a good place to connect with creative folks who otherwise live to far away to meet!
Response: Wow--they arrived quickly. Perhaps they swam! So glad you liked the ATCs and had a happy mail day!
Response: Oh great! Those little drawings were a challenge as my mouse skills are not stellar! It's a relief that it arrived and you are so happy. I did my best!
Response: I think you did just give me 50 hearts! Honestly, what's better than hearing that a little mail package made so many people happy? Thank you. You made my day.
Response: Of course! As long as you don't mind that I can be a bit unorthodox as a penpal. I always reply but don't always have time for long letters these days so the people I correspond with know they sometimes get photos, drawings, naked mail--whatever my creative brain comes up with on a given day!
Response: I had fun making it for you. Hope you liked the ATC itself. I haven't worked with gouache in a bit so it was a good adventure for me. I tried to pick up some of the cheerful colors I saw in your mandalas!
Response: Glad that you liked the swap! Since my button maker makes 1.25's I was searching for 1 inch pins you would like. We have a shop downtown called "essentials" that sells very non-essential cool imported papers etc. and I remembered that they have little pins with an "e" and their logo--like the extra. When I went in they didn't have any and I had already paid for the button (and some non-essentials for myself) while they looked so they gave me the extra instead! I already had your envie made so I did my best to get it to fit--lol. Apologies if the size was wrong but I figured that since you sew you would do something creative with it!
Response: Thanks Belinda--So glad that it brightened your day! I made the recipe cards on different papers but I think it's watercolor, ink and perhaps acrylic! Can't say I'll be practicing anytime soon--I'm pretty happy just painting--but thanks for the good wishes!
Response: Yes, I think the envie was my favorite part (though I worked to put plenty of artistic goodness inside too). Glad you liked everything.
Response: Thanks for the PM update that two of the three postcards arrived. I'm resending the third today (29 April). Please let me know when it arrives. Thanks!
Response: Thank you. It enjoyed putting it together for you!
Response: Yes, I thought that was interesting. I got a piece from each of you that I had purchased here and sent along!
Response: lol I'm afraid you have one of only two art-o-mat sized versions of this zine. I spent hours resizing it to "fit" the box and since the original photos don't really fit I can't say I'll be submitting. I hope to create something else for the old kerplunk though! Thanks for the sweet rating. So glad you liked it!
Response: Yes, I used your profile (it was a great help!) and I'm glad that you liked everything! Aren't those tiny Moleskines fantastic? Hope the seeds take root quickly and brighten your garden!
Response: Thank you! You hosted a wonderful swap and I had a great time shooting the photos and putting this together for you!
Response: Thanks! I'm not a vegan either but my mom found the recipe when I had to observe a dairy free diet for a bit. We all liked it so it's stayed on in the family cookbook. Mailed your pc yesterday so it should arrive quickly.
Response: Thank you so much. I did do a little special edition for this swap with the extra photos and hand made covers. Aren't the little photos fun? I wanted you to see them (and perhaps understand my addiction)!
Response: Oh wonderful! I thought it wouldn't arrive until Monday. Enjoy the magazine and happy creating!
Response: Glad it arrived as naked mail is always a bit interesting. Now that you have it I'll post a before photo to Flickr. If you have a chance when you return home and get to see it, I'd love to hear if it made it intact.
Response: As intended! lol I've had a good time creating them for you!
Response: You're welcome! Happy Birthday!
Response: Very small world! It was a fun swap!
Response: It was a great little swap and I'm thrilled that you are as happy as I am. A lovely handmade swap all around! The extra piece will be on it's way soon! Please let me know when it arrives safely.
Response: Yes, addicted here too! Did you notice that I sent one piece from our machine that you also sent me from yours in LA (the olive)? It made me laugh when it came but I figured that you must have liked it if you sent it to me!
Response: Have fun with the goodies! (I'm lucky I got it to close!)
Response: Lovely! Hope you have a very special day.
Response: Yeah! It's only my second so I'm thankful for the enthusiastic review!
Response: Thanks! Glad you enjoy my little story and hope you have fun checking out the Impossible Project.
Response: Wonderful! It was a lot of fun creating and finding indie buttons for you!
Response: So glad you liked it and so glad that it arrived with the photos still sewn on. I wasn't sure how they'd fare but I had to try!
Response: Happy Birthday! Honestly I had the hardest time finding something panda. I love them and just hoped you would like the bag even if it didn't quite fit in the envie!
Response: Indeed the challenge was a great push to try something new! The front is probably my signature (MChapin 2010). This is the first time I've tired sending the photos by sewing them so I'm glad to hear it was well received and arrived in good shape!
Response: We actually share a number of interests so it was a lot of fun to get your package together! Glad you are happy with it.
Response: Oh I'm grateful to hear that it made it to your mailbox and you like it! Thank you so much for forwarding the shark along. She just received it and was equally happy.
Response: Happy Birthday Mandii! What great news that you loved your gift even if it was a bit early! Hope you have a lovely day next month.
Response: I am so sorry! I must have swapped two cards. Someone else is getting a shark (that I was rather proud of) and thinking just what you did. Too many late nights in the studio!
Addendum--Glad to hear you received your shark card! The recipient of the polar bear was equally happy. Thanks for forwarding it along.
Response: I had a lot of fun making it for you!
Response: So glad it arrived safely! I'll let you know when yours does as well.
Response: Wonderful! I thought it would be fun to see what different artists did with the concept of hands since they are meaningful to you and your work. I'm glad everything arrived so quickly and that you are happy with the results!
Response: I'm thrilled the photo found an appreciative home. The papers are from an "artist paper swap" I hosted for years and from my favorite paperie in NYC, Kates. As for the stamps I can't say I'd do that often but I loved your "fund my habit" comment. How could I resist?
Response: So glad you liked it! You mentioned dragonflies in your profile. I liked the one I drew on your envelope the best. Did you notice it's little shoes? As for the naked mail did the loose pc clipped to the board make it? My postal clerk bet it wouldn't!
Response: Wonderful! Happy Birthday!
Response: Hello! Yes, the stamps are my hand carvings and I'm so glad you liked the card. I just moved here from NYC so it's a big change!
Response: Thank you. Little owl was my first swap bot adventure. I'm so happy she's found a happy home with you and that you liked all the art surprises.
