HI My name is Val and I live in Central Connecticut. I was born in Northern Maine, but I have lived in CT most of my life. I have seven children, 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, with another one on the way ! That is a lot of Christmas presents to make ! :-) One of my granddaughters was adopted from China. I LOVE to travel, especially taking cruises. I am looking forward to celebrating my 80th birthday with a cruise in May 2013. I look forward to swapping !

I spend a lot of my spare time knitting, crocheting and sewing. I try to make birthday and Christmas gifts for my family members, and items to sell at the holiday craft fairs in my area. I make a lot of scarf, hat and mitten sets as well as afghans and baby items. I am always in search of a yarn or fabric bargain.

I most music, except rap. My favorite is country music. Old or new country... I love it all. I try to get to one or two concerts each year in my area.

I usually read each evening to wind down my day. I will read almost anything, but prefer not to read war books. James Patterson, Nora Roberts and Mary Higgins Clark are a few of my favorites.

I especially enjoy shopping at the Dollar Store, Christmas Tree store and any craft or fabric store I can find. I like to bake yummy desserts to share with my family and friends. I enjoy trying new recipes. I like most kinds of puzzles.....crossword, jigsaw and Sudoku.
I visit my friends out of town at least once each week, enjoying lunch and shopping with them.

Things I do not like: * Orange is my least favorite color * Cigarette smoke (my asthma does not like it)
