Hi! My name's Susan and I would be described by most as odd, unique, quirky, bizarre, you get the idea. From my mom I have a very developed right side of the brain, I love all things creative. I love the random, bizzare, different, and tacky, the kind of things most sane people wouldn't enjoy as much as I. I love bright, colourful things! And I love them even more when they're big crazy earrings/other jewellery! My favourite colours are black and red. My favourite textures are snakeskin (fake that is...), fur, and bumpy dots. My favourite smells are citrus and spice. My favourite artist is Van Gogh. My favourite flavours are strawberry, lemon, and lime. If I haven't covered everything and you're stuck on crafting something for me, just ask (If I give you a hint it doesn't mean I still can't be surprised :))
I'm also a bit of a video game/rpg/anime geek, who ironically enough enjoys to dance and party (I enjoy going to raves, so anything glowing, bright, sparkly, or shiny is good).
The most important thing about me: I am a fashion nut! Many projects I do, no matter what medium (prints, pottery, painting, etc) have fashion/clothing as a subject matter. I am currently working on my portfolio for application to a program in Fashion Communications (advertising, etc).
Oh, and I'm 18, if that helps at all.
As I former music student, I can appreciate the musical value and contribution of almost any genre. However, here are some of my favourites:
-Oldies Rock (AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen) -Typical"Today" Rock, if than makes sense (Franz Ferdinand, Coldplay, The Strokes, Metric) -Last but not least, Electronic in most forms (Royksopp, Pendulum, Infected Mushroom, Venetian Snares)
I don't mean to offend anyone, this is just to help get to know me, but I'm not the biggest fan of country and rap. There is some out there that I enjoy, but not much.
Always tough, here goes:
A Scanner Darkly, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, From Hell, Flicka, Devil Wears Prada, Thank You for Smoking, The Black Dahlia, Saved!, Howard Stern's Private Parts, Pan's Labryinth, The Last Kiss, Wedding Crashers, Donnie Darko, Infection, foreign films (namely asian Horror movies and French cartoons), I Heart Huckabees.
As you can see I like almost any kind of movie, although my favourites are psychological thrillers/quality horrors, and those movies you have to watch many times to full understand, but when you do, they really make you THINK.
Family Guy, Project Runway, re-runs of CSI but only the original, most random shows on the Woman's Network, Life Network, DIY Network, and Style Network, those shows where you're given x amount of money and have to bargain shop an outfit or something, bizarre kid's shows, Myth Busters and other Discovery Channel shows.
I love love love to sew, mostly dresses and lingerie, and I love to make corsets. I also like to make mixed media pieces (with beads, paper, fabric, etc), more 3D collages you could call them. I like to create both wire and resin crafted jewelry with random found objects. I've recently fallen in love with quilting, but always pep it up and make it fun for myself (my recent quilt was orange fur, bright blue, and cheetah print). I like to paint, mainly with acrylics but I sometimes use watercolours for my clothing illustrations. I like to do linoleum block prints.
P.S. I understand and appreciate those who do enjoy scrapbooking, but I personally don't. So it would be cool to not get any SPECIFICALLY scrapbooking supplies (eg. stickers, ribbon, etc are awesome either way, but something like brads I wouldn't be able to use). But it's up to you whether you'd like to or not, thanks :)

I am the other person in the journal swap. You are still logging on here so you arent sick, so can please own up and send these journals back. I put a lot of time in and Ellen did as well and I would like them back even if you dont do anything. Not very responsible when you were the host!
Hi Sewing Spoon, would you please send along the Canadian Journal swap journals. As host, I'm sure you mean to make this swap successful but at the moment you are the weak link.
We'd love to have our journals back even if you are unable to do your artwork in them. Pretty pretty please send them along. E.
Susan, what's happened to you? Are you ok?
Can I join your swap. I have heard nothing from you. Thank you, Crystal
