About Me

I live in the Pacific Northwest. I've been in the region for 8 years (wow, I didn't realize it was so long) and I still marvel at the rain. I'm very happily married. I am the oldest of four kids and consequently sort of bossy and "Type A". I love to cook and bake, so I'd be happy to swap recipes. I love stories-whether they're from books or movies or really good tv shows. I'm always looking for my next good book or movie and I wouldn't mind offering my own suggestions.

Favorite Music

I enjoy many different genres of music. Some of my favorite artists at the moment are Bach, Vivaldi, Yeah Yeah Yeahs (I walked down the aisle to one of their songs), Anya Marina, Mindy Gledhill, Sufjan Stevens, Basia Bulat. I'm always looking to discover new artists, though.

Favorite Television

My husband and I love finding a really good tv show that we enjoy together. Our current list includes Mad Men (not looking forward to waiting until 2012 for season 5), Dexter, Glee, Community, Downton Abbey and 30 Rock. I recently burned through the Pillars of Earth miniseries and I can't wait watch it with my husband.

Favorite Crafts

My crafting bug comes in waves. Generally I enjoy scrapbooking and other paper crafts. I love homemade cards so I'd be happy to swap some around. I'm also constantly looking for cute stationery to add to my small collection.

Thanks for the list of 3 books....I've read Alice Hoffman but not this one, I've never read The Joy Luck Club, and Blink is nonfiction, which I must admit I have an aversion to. But I think I'll put Here on Earth on the top of my TBR pile and get a copy of Joy Luck Club from Paperback Book Swap. Thanks so much!

Response: Yes I did make it-glad you liked it. Sadly I do have a black thumb-which is especially hard this time of year because of course I have to try planting and growing things, but alas, they never make it :(
