Hi, I'm Julia a fifty-four old woman with two grown children and three granddaughters. I don't work due to a disability which allows me to take extended visits to my daughter's home which is in a different state.

My son lives close with his daughters who are a joy. I have always enjoyed receiving mail. As a young adult I had a couple of pen-pals for several years. I like the old-school way of writing letters. That may have been when my love of paper began.

I consider myself a good gift giver and with my appreciation of the mail I think I'd be a great swapper.

I have two tuxedo cats, Jeeves and Petunia. I am kind and thoughtful and have a good sense of humor.

My favorite colors are orange, red, brown, cream. I prefer coffee rather than tea.

My thing is retro. I love the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. I like their images, colors, designs and the vibe.

I love thrift stores and flea markets. I was doing thrift stores before it was a "thing". My funds are very limited so thrifting is not only fun but a necessity.

I am an introverted extrovert. While I love to be home alone doing homemaker things exploring my creative side I also like to meet new people.

A few years ago and having watched many youtube. videos I started junk journaling. All that different paper and using in unique way blew my mind. I love it. Then I started watching mixed media videos. Oh yeah, I wanted to do that and combine it with my junk journaling.

I'm am still learning and now I have junk journals, some with mixed media some not. I have a couple small journals of just mixed media and I'm using a wallpaper sample book for my glue book

Retro is my favorite when it comes to images but I do like a whole lot more. One of my favorite books to get images was from "Humans of New York" that I found at the thrift store. And I love images of animals. Who doesn't, right?

About the only era I don't care for is Victorian.

One of next goals is to learn different ways to bind my journals. I've been using three-ring binder rings for my junk journals.

I like classic rock and the blues. I do like some of today's alternative rock.

Stephen King is my favorite author. I also like Dean Koontz. Thriller, mysteries and paranormal romance - yes you read that right and yeah it's a thing - are what I like.

Of course I'm drawing a blank on some of my favorites. The list is long. I like thrillers and mysteries - are you noticing a theme - the scarier the better.

Directors I like are Eli Roth and Quentin Tarantino.

I love Survivor. American Horror Story. The Walking Dead, Fear of the Walking Dead, Project Runway - I think it's the creativity because I centainly don't wear high fashion, I'm more of a jeans and T-shirt kind of gal - Modern Family, In the Middle to name a few.
