still feel relatively new to crafting. didn't grow up in a crafting family, but started teaching myself to sew last year and FELL IN LOVE with it!
i spend most of my time sewing and doing paper crafts like cardmaking and mod podge-ing things. have had a blast creating gifts for the people i love!
never thought i'd be the type to spend my free time searching through craft blogs and books, planning out projects and fiddling with needle and thread...but here i am, completely crafty! ,
i love worship music, indie stuff, folk music, pop, contemporary. some favorites:
tobymac, plumb, damien rice, joshua radin, ingrid michaelson, missy higgins, william fitzsimmons, watermark, passion, bethany dillon, jars of clay, skillet, switchfoot, shane and shane, mumford and sons, amos lee, ben folds, rosie thomas, wilson phillips, nichole nordeman,
i strongly dislike: country music, heavy metal
i prefer non-fiction
my favorite author is augusten burroughs.
i'm not (too) embarrassed to admit i really like self-help books, and chic-lit (the witty kind)
i strongly dlslike romance novels, anything involving twilight or harry potter,
i've recently discovered books from my favorite websites, like Cake Wrecks, Sh*t my dad says, Emails from an A**hole...so funny!
my kiddo and i LOVE reading together, especially sandra boynton, mercer mayer and the berenstain bears. we only have a few of each and are slowly trying to find others in thrift shops.
way into reality tv. love project runway, survivor, glee, top chef, chuck, gossip girl, desperate housewives, the office, 30 rock, modern family, big love, weeds, gilmore girls, the bachelor/bachelorette, tosh.o, the soup, big brother, the amazing race, archer, always sunny,
spend most of my time sewing and mod-podging. i'd love to get interesting papers, photographs, chipboard, glitters, modern fabrics (not into anything retro....if it looks like a mumu i don't like it!) patterns, tutorials, tips and tricks, paintbrushes, stickers, stencils, stamps, ink pads, acrylic paint, sheet music, wood beads, metal beads, simple jewelry things that wouldn't require lots of specialized tools, links to your favorite crafty websites, ribbon, tulle, felt, BUTTONS (i have a major thing for buttons!!), thread, things i can use for projects with my 3 year old daughter, pin cushions, magnetic pin cushions, wrist pincushions, I LOVE GETTING THINGS OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HANDMADE, just about anything i'd say!
pink is my favorite color. i also love greys and blues.
i just got a sizzix big kick and am having fun figuring out ways to use it! saving my pennies to get more dies for it!
i love headbands and hairbows, both for me and my little girl! we also love bracelets!
she loves hippos, penguins and chipmunks. she really enjoys painting and dancing. and she's a great photographer for 3 years old!
i have been LOVING doing email swaps, especially the kind where i can really get an idea of who someone is. i think i'd love to have an ongoing penpal, so if anyone is interested in that, let me know!
and, finally, gift giving is my primary love language...so being able to combine that with my newfound love of crafts is THRILLING!!

Hi! I saw that you commented on the Swap what you make swap in support of a similar swap, but with an hour requirement instead of a dollar requirement. I felt the same way, so I created a swap like that: Swap what you like II. Hope you'll join!
Oh my, what a nice surprise came in the mail today! Thank you so much for sending me the angel package for the Big Fat Stuffed Envelope Swap #8! Such fun things!

Thank you so much for angeling the Big Fat Stuffed Envelope Swap #8!
So I've misplaced your return letter momentarily until I clean off my desk. It's just the impetus I need! But yes, I'd love to trade mix CDs with you. I'm thinking by St. Patty's Day, but look for a reply letter soon, if I'm not lost under the mail avalanche first! ;)
Thank you so much for the extra goodies and for compensating me for the extra postage even though it wasn't necessary at all! You are an EXCELLENT swapper! We need more like you!
Im so glad you signed up for my swap :) YAY! Hope you have a fabulous weekend!
i love Sandra Boynton books. My kids also like books by Mo Williams, they are FuNnY!
I just wanted to thank you again for the magazine swap that you sent me! I'm not familiar with this publication, and I am excited to discover it... the eyelashes were such a sweet extra that you sent! And to top it all off, the package that you sent it in was adorable... Thank you so much, receiving your package really made my day!!! ^ ^ Hugs, Kitty
