I have been crocheting for nearly 40 years and crochet and knit all my gifts. I crochet miniature bears..under 4 inches, cats, dogs, dolls, and anything else that comes to mind. I have enjoyed drawing since I was small and love to draw small caricatures of the people I work with and give them to them as pick-me-ups. I have designed a few of the things I crochet and also love to adapt the patterns I have purchased. Have a great sense of humour which is very helpful in my job as a reservations agent in customer service for a major airline...Lufthansa.
I really love deep colours, especially red-orange, teal, hunter green. My favorite tv shows are csi from anywhere and I enjoy The Iron Chef original series. In my opinion the best show on tv is Extreme Makeover, Home Edition. My favorite holiday is Christmas. I start making things around May or June as I want to do the best I can and absolutely refuse to put myself in the poorhouse buying 'things'. People love receiving handmade and I'm happy to oblige. I can never have enough ornaments for the tree!
I enjoy learning about and collecting things from different cultures. I enjoy anything that someone has taken the time to make themselves and shows some real creativity and thought. I have always felt like a bit of a funny owl but have never made one. Maybe I should start! Being in an international business I would love to receive things having to do with flying, airlines, tourism things, etc, but I love receiving just about anything. I've always had a real love affair with anything Asian. I'm a cancer so things water related would be perfect....guess that's why I LOVE making mermaids..haha Also, as a side note...I don't know why I hate these things but I truly cannot stand sock monkeys....just really creepy I think.
I have started making dotees. Mine are crocheted and I paint on the faces. So far they are being well received. I love a challenge and would never flake on anyone. I put a lot of thought and effort into all of my swaps and enjoy them very much! I don't sign up for more than a couple at a time as I don't want to send something that I haven't put my whole focus into. Having too many swaps just drains the creativity pool.
Swapping in General....I absolutely love swapping and have so far sent and received items from all over the world. I was angeled once and truly flaked on once as it was a private swap that I put a lot of effort into and did not even receive an acknowledgement or a swap in return. This really hurt as I have swapped with this person a couple of times and really don't know what to think.
I think it's important to have someone in the family who knows the passwords, etc just in case you are sick and cannot get to a computer to advise of inability to follow through with swaps and such. I am going to make this available to one of my family as I truly believe something happened to my swap partner and no one knows.

Your crochet work is beautiful! I added you as a contact on Flickr :) Let me know if you ever want to do a private swap. I don't crochet (yet) but I sew... I've made quite a few dotees.
