I'm married, a mom to three and Nana to three. I'm a stay-at-home gal...forever "on-call" for my family! I love God, my church, my family, friends, and all rescue puppies. I am owned by my 4 dogs: 2 Golden Retrievers, a long-haired Chi, and a teacup Yorkshire Terrorist. ;) I adore paper art, vintage ephemera, English Literature, great writing pens and markers, and hand-made paper. I love tags, bookmarks, beautiful stationery, envelopes, and teeny tiny paper things. I love antique furniture, books, letters, and post cards.
The All Creatures Great and Small series, The Mitford Series by Jan Karon, Dick Francis novels, and C.S. Lewis. I love mysteries, suspense novels, and biographies. History, art, and children's books. Classic literature, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, and Jane Austen. Well, really, I love all books. Date night at our house is a trip to the public library and dinner at the adjoining Panera. I love to read.
I prefer quiet, silence, solitude. The sounds of nature in our woods. Birds calling, squirrels chattering, crickets at dusk. I like smooth jazz, instrumentals, background music, and old hymns. I adore Christmas music, and Josh Groban can come sing to me anytime. And if Jim Brickman isn't busy, he can come too.
Serendipity, The Family Stone, Little Women, The Thin Man series, National Velvet, The Black Stallion, and Seabiscuit. Anne of Green Gables, Love, Actually, and Signs. War of the Worlds, The Help, Life is Beautiful (subtitled). Sound of Music, It's A Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, The Wizard of Oz, The Pianist. Out of Africa, Chicago.
Nova, Nature, National Geographic, and The History Channel. The rest I can live without. I used to watch QVC and HSN, but my husband started to look frowny. So, in order to save my marriage to this wonderful man, I went through Home Shoppers Rehab.
Twice.
Well, not really. î…
I love card making, zentangling, stamping, paper crafting, sewing, scrapbooking. I love using old clock parts to make vintage jewelry. I'm "learning" how to knit (but I've spent 4 years on the same dishcloth...a little OCD about mistakes and dropped stitches), and I'm a beginner quilter. I love love love rabbits...think Beatrix Potter, not cutesy. We live in the woods, so I really love wildlife stamps...foxes, squirrels, woodchucks, chipmunks, birds, deer (7 sleep in the woods behind our home!!) and Canadian geese at our pond. I love simple, rustic, genuine, honest.
Items that would make me :) would be: Sakura Pigma Micron .005 Archival Markers-(these pens are great for zentangling), pretty stationery, note cards, great writing pens or fine tip markers, pastel binder clips and heart and other shaped colored paper clips, pretty office supplies, craft embellishments, paper, letters, cardstock, wildlife illustrations, miniature anything! I love teeny tiny things. Vintage books, letters, postcards, vintage costume jewelry, vintage lace, hankies, table linens, buttons, candles, white anything. I love fabric, embroidery floss and beautiful ribbon. I love rubber or acrylic stamps, inks, envelope waxes and envelope wax seals. Glitter and bling make me happy!
Some things I dislike: anything occult, Wicca, political stuff, "cutesy" country, Disney, cartoons, dolls, things that are "old and tired" instead of vintage. I have never "collected"...(the only things I collect are dust bunnies î–)
