PLEASE NOTE

I know this is going to sound horrible but..........I've been trying to DE-STASH and redo my craft room for so long but just have too much stuff. Please, don't send me any extra stuff unless it's part of the swap requirement.. My stuff is overwhelming. I don't want to sound ungrateful, but I can't clear my room if more stuff keeps coming. Thanks for understanding.

I'm a Native Dallas-site. I've had what I call two life changing experiences in my life so far. One good and one not so much. 2014, will begin my 5th year cancer free. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2/08. That year was horrible with a double mastectomy, the chemo and radiation. I had reconstructive surgery 4/10 and had the implants put in 2/17/11.

I was adopted as a newborn and in 2004 was united with my birth mother's side of the family. This was one thing I HAD to do. With the help of some special search angels and my own tracking, I found them. I was so happy to learn of the siblings I had and my medical and ethnic background. That void has been filled for me.

I love children and have 9 nieces and nephews who live nearby,

I was raised Catholic, went to Catholic school from K-8th grade. I admit to having issues with the Catholic Church so I don't really practice it any more. I believe in a little bit of a lot of faiths but haven't found one particular denomination. I live by the "Golden Rule", treat others as you would like to be treated, help others in need and be the best person I can be. I don't judge anyone on their religious beliefs and love learning about all kinds of beliefs.

I am very open minded and don't judge people in any way. We are all unique.

I don't work outside the home but do a lot of volunteer work. Our local food pantry, visiting our local nursing home and the animal shelter are my favorites. I also crochet for several charities.

Favorite Music

I'm a music fanatic. I like all kinds of music except the hard core rap, Opera and Chamber music.

A few of my all time favorite groups are:

The Beatles, The Eagles, Jimmy Buffet, Guess Who, Maroon 5, Elton John, E.L.O.

Favorite Movies

Like music, it's hard to choose just a few.

Children Of A Lesser God

Fried Green Tomatoes

Ya-Ya Sisterhood

Steel Magnolias

The Shining

Pay It Forward

The Secret Window

Favorite Television

I listen to the TV more than I watch because I'm usually working on some sort of project and not many shows really entertain me or hold my attention.

Master Chef

Hell's Kitchen

The Amazing Race (When it's on)

Criminal Minds, NCIS, CSI

Downton Abbey

Call The Midwife

Favorite Books

I don't really have a favorite book. There are so many but these are a few of my favorite authors ~ in no particular order except the first one. I LOVE James Patterson!

Ann Rule
Mary Higgins Clark
Stephen King
Agatha Christie

3/14~~~Just finished a really good book by James Patterson called Against Medical Advice. It's co-authored and a true story. Loved it!

Favorite Crafts

I am a self taught calligrapher and had my own business in the past. Now it's just a hobby with a few small jobs here and there.

I used to cross stitch but not as much lately.

I love recycling envelopes and making my own envies.

I've been working on a book called "Wreck This Journal" for about a year. It's so fun!! I just got the Duct Tape version of "Wreck This Journal". All new and ready to be wrecked.

I make bubble stationary which I find so entertaining. My husband, for some reason, can't stand the sound of me blowing bubbles with the straw. I have to make it when he's gone to work. I also make matching envelopes.

I love to make Zentangles & host a few swaps. l enjoy learning new patterns and techniques.

Someday, I'd like to learn to knit.

I like trying any new crafts at least once.

Ways I Relax

I love nature and being outside. I find the outdoors to be very relaxing. Hearing the birds, feeling the wind, looking up at the clouds, the flowers........and on and on..........Happy & relaxing.

Gardening is another way of relaxation for me. Planting new flowers, trimming bushes or pulling weeds makes me happy.

My favorite place to be is the beach. I've been going to the beach at least once every summer since I was 4.

I love the sounds of the ocean and birds, and feeling the sun and the sand.

Our pets

I love animals of all kinds. Currently, we have one cat, Sheba. who's almost 18 years young.

We adopted a little white boy kitten, Buddy, on April 11, 2011 (who looks just like this one) LOL! and this sweet buff and white little girl kitten (which we found out is really a boy...oops) on July 24, 2011 named Lucy. Buddy loves her/him! We have a wild bunny living in our backyard and I feed the birds and squirrels everyday.

My favorite animals in the wild are:

meerkats

So cute and dedicated to their clan.

They always look so happy!

So Strong and Beautiful!

Misc. Stuff About Me

My favorite colors:

I usually wear blues, greens, red (bright colors) I also like all shades of purple. I really like all colors except I'm not much for pastels and don't like pink unless it's HOT Pink.

Other Misc. Stuff

I am re-learning the guitar. I play drums and piano. I love, love, love to take pictures. I carry my small digital everywhere just in case.

I've been referred to as a Free Spirit

Mother Earth

and

An Old Hippy

All describe my personality pretty well. I can be very spontaneous at times, very outgoing, easy going, easy to talk to, a good listener and just enjoy being me regardless of what other people think.

Instructions: Card front: Cut 5½”x11” black cardstock, score at 5½” and fold to form a 5½” square card. Place the fold on the left. Glue a 5¼” square gold sparkles holographic paper centered. Mat a 4¾” ivory cardstock square on black cardstock with 1/8” borders. Glue centered. Use the largest scalloped oval cutting die to cut a scalloped oval from black cardstock. Use the largest doily cutting die to cut a doily from ivory cardstock, and set the inner oval aside for later. Trim the doily center, following the dots along the inside for a smooth inner oval window. Glue the doily centered on the scalloped oval mat, and glue to the card front. Use the Flower #3 cutting die to cut two sets of pink cardstock petals, two sets of pink hearts holographic petals, and two sets of ivory cardstock petals. Use the Flower #1 cutting die to cut two sets of gold sparkle holographic petals. Use the pine sprigs cutting die to cut four sets from green cardstock. Use the flower stem cutting die to cut three sets of stems from green cardstock. Use the Paper Tool Kit to shape the petals and leaves. Assemble three flowers as shown, starting with the largest petal first and layering smaller ones on top. Mix up the patterns. Attach each petal at the top with a Zot™ so the flowers keep their shape. Foam tape to the card with a doublelayer of foam tape (so they keep their shape). Glue a stem beneath each flower. Cut the pine sprigs apart, and place around the flowers. Place the gold “Sincere Sympathy” Dazzles™ on a 2½”x1” black cardstock. Mat on pink holographic paper with 1/16” borders. Foam tape 2 1/8” from the top. Comment: Hi Deeno, got the postcards, thank you! And thanks also for the "Magic Eye" one... I've never been able to see anything in them, either, though, unfortunately! But I'll give it a try. (I had peeked at the solution already so I know what I could expect… but I’m not getting my hopes up that it will work for me this time, heh.)
