SPECIAL NOTE: thank you thank you thank you for thinking of me and being so kind and generous in wanting to send extras... however, I ask that you please not send me anything additional in the swaps... I live in a very small space and have so many supplies of my own that I will in no way ever use them all.... I appreciate the generosity of everyone on Swap-Bot... but please, save yourself the extra postage and rest assured that a swap created and sent thoughtfully and timely is more than enough for me... I don't have to receive extras in order to give you a heart. I have removed my likes/dislikes list to help you with this... grin.
The EXCEPTION would be if you have any cool blogs or websites you really love and would like to share the address ; )
So for now here's me: I'm mom to Baxter, my fur baby shihtzu/poodle/??? mix. Love to travel, have lived abroad and have had the opportunity to visit some wonderful places although there are many many more I want to see.
I have a career I love, which is amazing (I work as a consultant --- the people side of change mgt is my area of expertise) and am lucky that I get to engage the creative side of my brain at work regularly!
Leading a healthy life is important to me... love to cook (I'm vegetarian and it's great introducing my friends to different dishes that are easy, delicious, and nutritious! I actually eat a mostly Vegan diet which means no animal products but I do eat honey! AND I have a huge love of wool so I struggle with the choices at times...) and I lead an active life-style... cycling and walking are passions.
I also try to lead a 'green' lifestyle and continue to try and understand the impact of my choices...and I sometimes struggle with my love of paper products (seriously, I don't think there is such a thing as too much paper) and what it means in terms of harming the environment.... I am trying to make smarter, better choices...
To give you an idea of what I'm reading at any given time...: I love all kinds of books: crafting books... books to ignite creativity... books to help me explore my life .... help me maintain my health and books that also allow me to escape, especially humorist lit or satirical memoirs.... I also love me some Jane Austen... grin & I read quite a bit for my work, and love those, too! I have not developed an appreciation for poetry.
And am now on the hunt for old books to turn into works of art as well as use in my art/collages
To give you an idea of what I'm currently interested in: Well, as my name might suggest, I love a bit of everything... my life is a collage and the artistic side of me is constantly trying my hand at something... whatever catches my interest... at the moment I've revisited the art of knitting... and now felting... love love love PAPERS... all kinds, textures, making cards, (although I don't do scrapbooking, I think a lot of the same techniques are used to make cards...) and made a very cool journal for my mother for christmas... I love textiles... colors & textures... love hand-crafted items and am working towards building up an Etsy Shop....
Have recently discovered the art of zentangles...am intrigued and want to do and learn more!!!! Oh and ATC swapping.... oh. my. god.............................. lol.... seriously, I AM that ExCitEd!
repurposing/recycling/reusing/ - love-love-love!
What would you notice if you visited me? I love Green......................... all shades but especially lime green (not neon)........... love blues, especially ice/silver bl ue............... Mmm and chocolate brown.................. and I love a punch of orange as well.... love monochromatic looks (varying shades in the same color palette (sp)... especially white/cream/mocha/caramel as well as stunning contrasts.... have a more abstract and primitive or funky bent versus realism.... have a very eclectic aesthetic and currently the designers are coining the phrase 'transitional' which seems to actually fit me to a 't'.... I don't like 'matchy-matchy' or 'cutesy' or 'country'.... my style is much more contemporary mixed with vintage for a place that feels like home.... On my blog I have pics of my space as I continue to transform it....
