Hello swap friends! I am Tracy, a registered social worker. I just starting a new job which I love. I provide social work for 130 residents in a private care home. The team and programs are so stimulating and intriguing. Plus I get to be in the helping role again after taking a couple years off work during the whole great resignation stage of the covid pandemic.
I am 3 years into farming on my little 15 acres within city limits. What a learning curve! Who knew we would have emus and highland cows? We had 2 gorgeous calves born this month. The cultivated gardens on this property are so pretty and well thought out by the previous owners. My husband and I have managed to rent the grounds as a wedding venue right through Summer 2025. We also have 2 Air BNB’s on the grounds; it is like travelling without leaving home, we meet so many interesting people.
I volunteer delivering Meals on Wheels to elderly people; the school breakfast program; Rotary annual fundraiser dinner with silent auction; and this weekend I am doing a one off working the kitchen at Coldest Night of the Year to help raise funds and awareness for the homeless in our city.
Like virtually everyone, I love to travel, whether it be girls trips, going away with my husband or group travel. I really admire people who solo travel but have only done this once, to Guatemala. Although it changes, if I had to list my top interesting areas I have travelled, I’d say: Orinoco delta in Venezuela; Greenland; Iceland; Channel Islands; Varanasi, India; Cappadocia; El Salvador & Nicaragua; Haida Gwaii; Japan; Hawaii; Laos & Cambodia. In March we are going to Texas to see Madonna then driving the Gulf Coast over to Panama City Beach Florida.

I don't care for cutesy/girlie things. I am not religious but still appreciate religious symbols.
Some of the best things I have ever received through swap-bot swaps are: disco globe clip on earrings, art by Cara Williams, a petrified clam, a feather from a great horned owl, ATC’s, foreign coins, quills, Greek magnet, needlepoint, cat teeth from a humane shelter (strange but I’ll take it! Haha), photos of someone’s hamster, a hand-made anti-racism booklet with illustrations. Thank-you!!!! I love this community and its connections. I have met a few penpals (from Austria, Ukraine and Surinam) and love doing so. If you are ever planning a penpal meet up, invite me! With advance notice, I am likely to come out.
Happy swapping.

Thank you so much for the great surprise! No one has ever sent me something in return for a swap. You really made my week with your kind gesture. I will pay it forward.
