Good evening! This is for the APDG ~ I Love Mountains! swap. I love mountains because of their beauty. Being from Florida, everything is pretty much flat here, so I am amazed even by decent sized hills lol. I hope you enjoy the pictures!
APDG ~ I Love Mountains! I've always experienced a certain awe when it comes to mountains. They really are breath-taking. The higher up you go on a mountain, the purer the air you breathe is, the clearer the sights you see. Mountains in general are just plain powerful. I've been blessed to live at the foot of two amazing mountains during my lifetime. I grew up under the watch of Mount Rainier, and currently can see it from my kitchen and bedroom windows. It is 14,410' tall, located in the Cascade Range in Washington state and an active volcano.
And now for Mt. Shasta, 14,179' tall, located in northern CA:
Hope you've enjoyed seeing my 2 favorite mountains!
This is a great swap idea for me because I am looking for ideas to do for the upcoming season (Fall!). I have been searching and here are a few ideas I am looking into:
I have LOTS of mason jars and was delighted to find this
Here is the link to one of the pages on how to do this: http://www.maracayhomes.com/diy-decorating-fall-into-autumn/
I love trees and wood and found this
Although I will do a simpler version, here is the link: http://www.designpursuit.com/diy-fall-ideas-tree-branch-candle-holders/
Found a pattern for scarecrow dolls at the thrift store, bought all the cloth and accessories, and going to make the girl and boy doll:
The mountains, the Appalachia (apple-at-cha) Mountains, are in my blood. They are my heritage through the Scots-Irish who settled here and the Cherokee who have long resided in these beuatiful mountains. My ancestors, a combination of the 2 (I am half and half) passed on the love and appreciation to me. I can go to the top of one, sit and look over the views and be inspired by the majesty and the peace I gain when I let them soak in. The following are pics of my beloved mountains.
Our mountains are known for the "smoky" mists (Smoky Mountains are part of the chain)
Blue Ridge Parkway - a great way to travel the top of the mountain ridge
Hi! I'm your partner for the APDG ~ I Love Mountains swap! I hope you like these photos!
Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada
Kings Canyon National Park, California
Chugach National Forest, Alaska
Glacier National Park, Montana
Mt. Rainier National Park, Washington
Mt. Shasta, California
Great Smoky Mountains
Mountains have always been really important to me because some of my earliest memories were of when my family lived in the Appalachian mountains. My siblings and I would go roaming through the forests and along the rivers, and even into caves! Mountains make me feel cozy and safe, like the earth is reaching up to give me a hug, but at the same time they're awing and powerful.
