I’ve just graduated from Huddersfield university with a degree in textile arts and crafts. I’m hoping to go back next year to get my teaching qualification. I mostly make dolls from crochet and knitting. I also like textile history and traditional crafts. Ok, other stuff, I live in Leeds, Yorkshire. When I’m not in university I make and sell craft kits and other craft items. I’m a member of my local Salvation Army, and live with Pixie, my cat.
I specialised in knitting techniques at university and I love most wool based crafts. I have 2 spinning wheels, 2 knitting machines and several other big textile gadgets to let me do whatever I like to do. I run a quilting project making quilts for vulnerable women and teach weaving and knitting to a women’s group. I also run a craft group for elderly women. I didn’t really ‘do’ art until Uni, but I like watercolour and pen and ink. I also do photoshop and computer drawing.
I have certain films that I watch regularly, they include: Harry Potter Star Wars (the old ones) Dirty Dancing, Grease and a lot of 80s movies The hunger games And a few others.
I don’t really read much but have audiobooks that I listen to regularly. Mostly though it’s things like Harry Potter. I also like Frank Peretti books and Francine Rivers.
I gave up my TV when I went to uni because it was a huge distraction and I’ve not looked back. Well... except I now have netflix. I watch a lot of Star Trek... far too much really. I also like orange is the new black, game of thrones and the walking dead. I suppose then I’m really into sci-fi and the odd gore film. I like ghost films, but as long as I can watch them in the day time!
