We've all gotten them ... the notecard in an exchange that we look at and say "not my cup of tea." I'm quite sure that people don't intentionally send boring notecards, it's just that tastes differ (thank goodness! I'd hate to live in a world of conformity!). Rather than pass that notecard you don't like along to another in a blank notecard swap (because it does show when a notecard has been passed along), use it for this swap. Find a notecard you have in your stash that you really don't like ... one sent to you in an exchange, or one you have acquired in another way ... and write a note on it about what it is that makes that card not your cup of tea. Be careful ... unless you have a super good memory (or note a name lightly in pencil on the envelope like I do) for who sent that card, you could be sending the notecard back to the person who sent it to you. So, just be honest and stick to analyzing what it is about that card you don't like ... not bringing into it the sender's taste, or lack thereof. You will have one (1) partner and send one (1) written notecard. Remember, you are writing a note on this notecard, not sending it blank. |
