Description:

Ok - all the other postcard swaps say "no vintage postcards". Well, this swap is for those of you who collect vintage postcards and would like to share. Vintage means something that is very old; something you would've purchased while on vacation when you were a young child, something your parents have stored away in an old album, or something you purchased from a second-hand/antiques shop. New prints of postcards with vintage photos are not allowed. They must be moldy oldy postcards.

This is an international postcard swap. You will have 2 partners, and send 1 postcard to each partner. REVISED: The postcard can be blank or written on (used), but you must mail the postcard to your partner in an envelope - not naked. Make sure to include a note with the postcard that includes the swap name and your user name. If you know the history behind the card, you may also share that with your partner. No homemade postcards or ad cards; the postcards must be store bought. The subject of the card and whether or not it is written on are sender's choice.

This is an international swap, so be patient with the time it takes to receive mail overseas. Also, please communicate with your partner if you are having personal issues that will keep you from sending your swap on time. I will not be angeling this swap, so if you do not plan to participate after signing up, do not sign up at all. No one likes a flaker!

In order to participate in this swap, you must not have any 1's in the past 12 months and no 3's the past 4 months, unless you have a good explanation. As long as you haven't flaked on a swap, you are okay to join. I will be inspecting 1's and 3's and will ask questions if I need clarification on these ratings. Newbies are welcome with a well-completed profile, 5 completed Type 2 swaps and a flawless 5.0 rating. No exceptions! I will be checking profiles periodically and will ban anyone who doesn't meet the aforementioned requirements.

Please ask any questions before signing up. Thanks!

Please rate according to the Swap-bot criteria below.

What are the rating criteria?

There are only three different rating criteria: I got my stuff and it met posted swap requirements (5 points); I got my stuff, but it didn't meet the posted swap requirements (3 points); I never got anything (1 point). Keep in mind that you are NOT rating your partners on whether or not you liked what you received, only on if it met the requirements of the swap. The fun thing about swaps is that you never know what you are going to get, and that means that sometimes you may not be thrilled with what you receive.

What are hearts and how do I give them?

If someone sends you an extra special swap package that far exceeds the swap requirements, you can give that person a heart, if you'd like.

Please do not rate your partner until you have their postcard in your hand. Participants are urged to rate/comment on a flaker accordingly.

I have some vintage postcards, but there is no way I would devalue them by writing on them some are almost 100 years old with the original stamps and some have writing on them which makes them even more beautiful in my opinion. I would send vintage postcards in an envie and include a note with them, it they truly are old, they may not hold up being sent naked anyway. i would love to join this swap esp since it is international, but these are my concerns. Is there anyway we can send these in an envie without writing on them? Thank you!

@NaughtyElf - I am revising the swap. I hope everyone else is in agreement.

bruxbaby, what you are saying is the vintage postcards are sometimes written on by some unknown person that you can get at antique stores, rather then you yourself writing on them. Correct? Also vintage can be anything from 1800's or just 50- years ago.(1950)Correct?

bruxbaby 05/16/2011 #

@ladydy5 - correct

I love this updated swap.

I prefer a used card, to me that is a part of history that is written by the sender.

I will take wither though.

I just bought some vintage cards.

Altkins 05/22/2011 #

I prefer the used/posted cards too.

Please remember that this swap is sender's choice.
