Description:

Coming from a textile design background, I've always been interested in what happens to imagery when it appears in multiples.

In this swap, you'll need to print multiples of one image onto a postcard. You can print very small images that don't overlap, or bigger images that do overlap.

You'll make one postcard for one partner. (No smaller than 4 inches by 5.5 inches.) Send it without an envelope ("naked"). Write a note on the back, even if you just say hi or explain how you made the card. :) Make sure any water-soluble media you used are properly sealed, so that it makes it through the mail in one piece. (Sometimes it rains outside!)

You can use any print making method you like, as long as the images used are produced by your own hand. (For instance, a hand-carved stamp is fine, a store-bought stamp is not.)

The inspiration is "concentric." You might think of it as a way to do the layout of your prints, or you might use a shape that you'd consider concentric. It's a repetitive point of inspiration for a repetitive type of project! Artist's choice as to how to interpret the theme.

A very simple example that would fulfill the requirements is carving a stamp into a bull's eye shape, and printing it polka-dot-style onto a 4 inch by 6 inch piece of card stock. Keep in mind, though, you can get way more complicated than that! And remember, you can always print in multiple colors or layers, or add in some color by hand after printing. Have fun!

Dazzle me! :P Or, even better, dazzle your partner! (The example photo is more of a sketch of a print I plan to make soon!)

OK, I know it's a busy time of year for anyone in school, so I've extended the deadlines for everything so that you have a chance to join up! (I hope everyone's final exams are going well!)
