Description:

The object of this series is to make sets of inchies that are monochromatic. In the past we have done "Tickled Pink", "Lavendar & Lace", "Green with Envy", "Purple Rain", "The Black Market", "Family Jewels" and "Seeing Red".

This installment is "I'm So Blue".

Make 4 inchies each for 2 partners (8 inchies total). These 8 inchies can be any theme you want them to be; however, each inchie needs to be predominantly BLUE in color. Inchies are little pieces of art that measure 1" by 1" square.

You can make two identical sets of inchies - one set for each partner, or you can make 8 totally unique inchies. Within each set you can draw one, collage one, paint one, bead one - or use the same medium/technique for all of them. One can be "Twilight", one can be Kawaii, one can be a cat, one can be a zentangle. The only rule is that all the inchies for this swap have to be predominantly BLUE in color. Other than the color it is UP TO YOU!

Inchies can be mounted on chipboard or some other super heavy backing - or, they can be two or more layers of cardstock. They can even be fabric! I have some inchies on my Flickr - so do some other Swap-Bot members (check out @dobie256 's Flickr!). Search for "inchies" on Flickr for ideas and inspiration!

Let me know if you have any questions at all - thanks! Newbies are ALWAYS welcome in my swaps; however, I will ban anyone that I feel is questionable (due to past ratings, etc.).

Hi! I am new, and interested in joining this swap, but I have never made "inchies" before and have some questions. After we make the 4 for our partner, do we mount all 4 to a single backing, so they are like a larger piece made of the 1 inch pieces, or do we leave them loose? Also- if we leave them loose, should we decorate the backs as well? Thank you for your help- this swap sounds like fun!

@pudinski - you send to 2 partners. 4 inchies to each partner. Total of 8 inchies that need to be created. Thanks!

@Marilu0 - you can mount the 4 inchies on one card if you want to, but it is not required. I am mounting all of my inchies onto a large canvas so if mine come mounted together I take them off to put randomly on my canvas.

Some people put the general info on the back of the individual inchies - their Swap-Bot name, etc. It's hard to fit the info on the back, though! Since I mount my inchies on a canvas I do not require that any info be put on the back; however, if you enter inchies swaps hosted by other people they may, indeed, require that you put your info on the back.

Thanks for the interest and let me know if anyone has any more questions!

Will rinchies be acceptable as well...just to add some variety?

LauraAust 12/27/2010 #

"Rinchies" are ROUND inchies. No, they will not be accepted for this swap as it is part of an ongoing series of inchie swaps that was started some time ago. Thank you for your question!

I've been wanting to try my hand at these so this sounds perfect. :)
