Description:

For this swap you will need one small notebook. Target sells several sets of three 4x6 stapled notebooks for about $3.. they are flat like a moleskine, cardboard covers, have about 40 pages. This is probably what I am using. You may make one, or buy one, it can be a moleskine or a cheap Target one or anything you want. The goal is thin, sewn or stapled (not spiral) and about 4x6. With me so far?

You will write your address inside the front cover, or outside it, if you prefer. If your cover is blank, feel free to embellish a bit. Write a short introductory page inside, either about you OR about your book, or both. Feel free to write several pages if you like... this book will come back to you... it is yours.

You will send this book to your 'send to' partner. They will journal, write, draw, paste, embellish, stick on random pieces of junk mail ( @traceyk that was added for you, because you don't think you can craft. :), paste in Calvin and Hobbes cartoons, or random quotes, or otherwise alter several pages. The maximum number will depend on how many of us participate, but let's say a minimum of four. (A front is one, a back is another, so two facing pages actually DO count as TWO, etc.)

This person will now mail the book they just worked on, yours, to THEIR 'send-to' partner. We will continue this circle, sending every three weeks (hopefully) until your book arrives back to you. You are welcome to send your book off sooner. (we will be assigned numbers and a sending order once partners are assigned)

Swap end date will be edited to allow three weeks per participant, and if we find holiday mail slowing us down, we will alter it again.

Mail dates will be:
Nov 29
Dec 13
Jan 3
Jan 24

Direction we will mail:
@Hollycm6 sends to @JessiPancake
@JessiPancake sends to @TraceyK
@TraceyK sends to @LadyStephanie
@LadyStephanie sends to @Hollycm6

Oh good grief....I feel like the slow person in the group because I can't grasp the rocket science swap description. I'm gonna sign up anyway because part of the description was specifically made for my paper craft inabilities! :) I got the first part....go to Target and get a notebook.

hollycm6 11/ 5/2010 #

Yes!!! I will walk you through the rest, one step at a time. We will have a journal tutorial. :)

Traceyk 11/ 5/2010 #

I got the journal. Oh these little things are soooo cute! :)

Emkay 11/ 6/2010 #

So we can do whatever we want on "our" pages, right? Craft, write, add photos, tell about a trip we took? Watching for now.

hollycm6 11/ 6/2010 #

Yep, anything.

JessiPancake 11/ 7/2010 #

I went to Target and bought the 3-pack before remembering that I had a cute Moleskine at home already. Oh well. You can never have too many journals!

LadyStephanie 11/10/2010 #

Hey swappers! Holly said that the entries could be anything. I have a request and wanted to see what you think.

I have a journal that I've circulated successfully in 2 round robin swaps. There is plenty of room for more entries, but it has a specific theme. Would any of you mind if I use an establish journal for this swap?

The title of my journal is: Somewhere In Time. I have pics up on my flickr along with some of the entries. For those not artistically inclined, no worries. It is mostly a writing type journal. In the beginning I ask several thought provoking questions with my answers setting the idea behind the theme.

Bottom line: I'd love to have more entries. And to swap within an awesome group like this would just be the bees knees!!!

Opinions? Thoughts?

hollycm6 11/10/2010 #

That's fine with me, especially since we don't have a chosen theme anyway. If anyone else has a theme they'd like people to focus on in their journal, just make sure it is explained clearly in the beginning. Then as receiver, read the sender's entries, then add whatever you like. :)

LadyStephanie 11/10/2010 #

Cool beans!

Traceyk 11/11/2010 #

"For those not artistically inclined" ha ha ha ha!! I wonder who she's talking about???? Hmmmm?????

hollycm6 11/13/2010 #

I didn't even see that phrase in @ladystephanie s post. When I read it I saw "For Traceyk's benefit, ....no worries!". Really. I did. Mmhmm. Yup.

hollycm6 11/13/2010 #

Okay, I edited the dates so there are four send by dates... but let me know if we need to change them. :)

hollycm6 11/24/2010 #

I sent my journal out today!

Traceyk 11/25/2010 #

I sent mine off last week. @ladystephanie did you get it?

LadyStephanie 12/ 2/2010 #

Okay, someone is going to have to poke me in the ribs every once in a while on this swap! Yes, @Traceyk I got yours, have made your entry and will send yours and mine to Holly today.

hollycm6 12/ 7/2010 #

And I got them! But I have the flu or something so I will wait till next week to start them. Sorry!

LadyStephanie 12/14/2010 #

I'm ready for another journal.

hollycm6 12/22/2010 #

Hmm. Two of these swaps I have been in, and two of these swaps have not worked out. We will try it again sometime, but each round will be a rated swap.
