Description:

This is the very first swap I have hosted. I love journals and altering them, and I also love quotes so this should be a lot of fun.

Details:

Altered Cover and Back (you can alter the pages too, but not part of the requirements). This is not a profile swap, but please make it journal that your partner will love and want to keep for themselves.

Atleast 50 quotes You can choose to explain why you chose certain quotes to make it a little more personal if you so desire.

Must be a Compositon sized notebook so that your partner can continue to add to the quotes if they choose to do so.

Being a Newbie myself this is open to Newbies too, but no flakers please I don't mind angeling but I don't want this to be neccesary. I will be checking profiles so please make sure it is completly filled out. No recent 1's or 3's without an explination please. Please if you get a Journal that meets all of these requirements give a 5 rating please. If there are any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

If I am stepping on anyone's toes please let me know and I will delete this swap, I'm fairly new so I'm not sure if I've taken someone elses idea.

I would like to add to this that please check you partners profile because I know that some people don't want a journal full of christian quotes so please check with your partner before you fill out your journal. Thank you all!!!

so what do we do with the quotes? Do we glue them in? If so, all together or one to a page? Should they have a theme, or can they just be random quotes that appeal to us?

Does the front and back HAVE to be altered. I have never done that before...so not exactly sure what that consists of

Altering means basically "making it nice looking or pretty" You could paint and put designs on it or cover it in pretty paper or ephemera. Another way to say it might me that you make it look like a scrapbook page using embellishments, etc. Anyone else want to add to the idea of what "altering" means?

I too was wondering about the quotes. Do we write them in the journal? If so, would it be one per page or a list of quotes.

You have to make the journal look nice on the outside it can not be plain. You can print the quotes out if you like and paste them in the journal or you can handwrite them which is what I prefer (it is just more personal that way and you have a month to do so). You have a month to complete it so plenty of time to handwrite them. You can categorize them so your partner can add their own that they love as they go.

This is a Regional USA swap only I'm sorry that I had to ban someone but please read first because I feel so bad when I have to ban someone.

Oh and one more thing that I still forgot to add. You can put whatever quotes you want in the journal it is completly up to you.

I have one question...... Can the journel be made from scratch? I make journels using the Zutter Bind It All machine and I guess I need another reason to get it out and use it (I promise it will be nice). If not I am ok with it because I joined the swap because of my love of quotes. Thanks for setting it up.

(piggybacking on DeniseN10ec's question) if you do allow hand made do you also allow printed pages or do you want them all hand written?

MommyKnows 08/15/2010 #

ooooooops...nevermind...I just read the answer up there ^

Craftymom85 08/15/2010 #

You can handmake the journal as long as it is good quality and something you would want to recieve
