I guess I should make this out of a fabric I do not like.

Some time ago a former workmate brought in a bunch of fabric offcuts for me to use "as a gift". Thankfully they are uniformly terrible fabrics, and i now have the perfect piece to use! (the rest I have shoved in the cleaning rag bag)

Thanks! you just reminded me I have a bunch of upholstery samples some of them real small none very big. I am going to patchwork a mess together.

I'm not using ugly fabric for mine. When I was little I had a voodoo doll that my parents brought me from New Orleans. It was made of straw (if I remember correctly) and had a dress made of of really pretty fabric. I think it was even wearing a necklace.

As an outsider looking in, I'd say that you should let anyone who has had a no-send join the swap. Isn't that a little hypocritical? ^laugh^

Does anybody know a good site to see some of the ideas people use for voodoo dolls...? I really want to join this swap but I'm not sure if there are any special things for them. =) Thanks

Those string dolls are pretty similar to voodoo dolls (isn't that what the company's called? Can't remember). They're a pest to make, at least for me, and take quite a bit of time but if you want I can send the pattern your way.

I would so join this...but I'm a bit of believer and have learned not to mess with anything I have the slightest belief in (always bites me in the butt!)

If anyone starts a dammit doll swap though, I'm in! Y'all have fun and take pictures because I want to see your dolls!

i like the ones that look like dolls more than the stringy ones.

@savannahjan sometimes people are rated ones for lost swaps, then the rater disappears so it can't be corrected...I don't want anyone with any new ones that don't have a darn good explanation.

@Vendetti check out these on Etsy for ideas. The string ones that they were discussing are on there as well.
