Matchbox Bed & Doll Swap 5 is now up! Click the link and it'll take you straight to it!! ^_^

No, this is not a series. So feel free to jump in even if you haven't participated in swap 1-3. =)

For this swap, you will be making a little matchbox-size bed and little doll or stuffie that will fit along with it. Make the outside of the matchbox the bed with the drawer to hold the doll and any accessories you would like to include with it. As for the doll, use whatever medium you would like. Polymer clay is fine. Cloth, felt, etc...

If you would like to pick a theme for your box you will be receiving, post in the comments section below. Remember to check the comments once partners are assigned so that you can see what your partner would like. But remember. Keep the theme kind of loose so that your partner can have creative input into the little work of art, too. =P

If you do not post a comment with a theme, your partner will go based off of your profile for what you might like.

Matchbox size will be a regular 32-ct. matchbox. You can use a regular matchbox or create your own (my preferred method). Click here for a template.

Please have completed at least 5 package/crafting swaps before signing up for this one, meaning that post card, letter, and online swaps will not count.

+++++++++++++++++++++++

This will be an international swap. You will have one partner. The deadline to send the matchboxes will be two weeks after the final sign-up date. Please have a 4.8 or above rating and be SURE you will be able to make the deadline before signing up for this! This would be a sad thing to be flaked on. =(

If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to post them in the comments!!

I edited the matchbox bed requirements. Everyone should be making one where the outside of the box is the bed and then the drawer will hold the doll and any accessories you would like to include. Like the one in the image. But feel free to embellish and make it amazing! Give it your own personal touch.

I would love to try this but do you know of somewhere I might be able to get an idea on how to make a tiny doll.

I'd suggest just playing around with ideas. For ones I have done, I basically just cut out two shapes in cloth, sewed them together, and embellished. =P Others have made them out of polymer clay. Others have made dolls out of those little mini-clothespins.That one that I have featured for this swap came with a little mini mermaid paper doll with different tails for her to wear. =P It's all up to how you want to go about doing it. =) You can use felt, too. I had one person make me a little mini mermaid out of felt and she came out SO adorable! =D Check out my flickr. You can see some of the ones I've gotten and ones I've made so far. =)

that is so awesome. I made a bunch of little dancers out of poly clay last year for christmas so I am trying right now to make a few tiny ones to see how they work out. I will definately join.

Well there you go then. =D Remember to check to see if your partner wrote a theme request. If not, make sure you're still making something based off their profile, too. =)
