Description:

With spring around the corner I thought it would be nice to have a tea and tea wallet swap.

A tea wallet has pockets to hold tea bags and a closure usually a button or ribbon tie so you can carry your teas with you in an organized fashion.

UPDATE: If you are not crafty and still want to join it is ok for you to buy the tea wallet as long as it's handmade by someone else. Etsy has lots of great sellers who have reasonable prices on tea wallets.

Number of partners: 1

Amount of tea bags: 4-6

For this swap you will make the tea wallet and then fill it with a tea bag in each pocket.

You can make the tea wallet out of whatever you want but it must be in spring colors like pinks, purples, yellows, greens and blues and pastels. Flowers, butterflies and things like this are also springy. It is sender's choice but please make sure to read your partners profile as they may have a specific "spring" color they like and also it would be nice to know what kind of teas they like or don't like and allergies.

The tea wallet must hold between 4-6 bags of tea and have some kind of closure.

You will need to send tea bags only (unwrapped are ok) but no loose leaf since you really can't put that in a tea wallet unless it's in the right size ziplock to fit in the wallet pockets.

As for the tea flavors itself again sender's choice but check for allgeries and dislikes just in case.

You will have two weeks from the sign up date to make your wallet and get your package ready for shipping. Remember that two weeks after the ship date is when the 3's and 1's become available to rate so please make sure to ship on time and also communicate with me and/or your partner if you are shipping late or having any problems with shipping.

COMMUNICATION IS KEY!!

I will allow newbies with good filled out profiles, I will check and ban anyone I feel is not fully filled out.

No recent 1's or 3's within the last 2 months unless you have a very good reason (contact me first and tell me) again I will check profiles and ban anyone I feel does not fit the requirements.

Ratings must be at least 4.5 or higher for non-newbies

Please feel free to ask any questions.

This swap is international so please be aware of shipping cost, time to ship and receive overseas items and if you live in a country that has restrictions on teas/herbs DO NOT SIGN UP I will ban you from the swap. Sorry.

hi, i was wondering if you knew of any tutorials, or links about how to make the wallet... i love the idea but have no idea where to start. Thanks!

LeishaCamden 03/19/2010 #

Yeah, me too ... I may join but first I would need to figure out how to make these things. :-)

Christie1981 03/19/2010 #

Hi guys :) here's a tutorial that seems nice and easy to follow.

Good luck!

Great Tutorial Christie1981....how cute! Putting this on my watch list will join when deadline is closer.

Lanie 03/19/2010 #

Christie thanks for adding that tutorial.

BTW if you know how to make a regular card wallet it is similiar to that. I can be in the bi fold or tri fold format or anyway really. If you google "handmade tea wallets" and look at images you will see lots of different kinds and can get ideas from those.

Duct tape, paper, cardboard, knitted, crochet, sewed, recycled, etc. you can make it out of anything jus make sure you follow the requirements for pockets and closure.

I want to let my partner know (whomever that is) that I not very crafty so I will be buying a tea wallet.

I don't like teas like chai, spicy, orange, earl grey or english breakfast. Love mint or fruit flavors and prefer caffeine free

thanks

nwyrsevegrl32 03/26/2010 #

I like most colors but orange and purple.

Lanie 03/28/2010 #

nwyrsevegrl that is fine that you will buy it but I perfer it be handmade at least by someone else....there are many nice ones on etsy for reasonable prices.

I was looking at some nice ones too but I am going to make mine.

apple tea by itself is ok for me but not mixed with cinnamon

all my tea likes and dislikes are in my profile

This is a great swap, if I wasn't so busy over the next few weeks I would join. I hope everyone gets something great from their partners!

This was fun. A package is en route to my partner. Enjoy!

Forgot to mark it sent! It is sent yesterday, hope it will get in Italy soon. Not sure how it will go now with that vulcano!

Lanie 04/19/2010 #

I think anyone in Europe and any other areas know and understand about the delays in shipping due to the vulcano so I wouldn't worry to much about it.

If anyone wants to get all nasty and stupid about it then they really shouldn't be on swap bot because things do happen that are beyond our control.
