Description:

Hello there fabric fanatics! If this idea takes I would like this to be a monthly swap.

We all know NOODLES. We love noodles. For this swap though we will be swapping narrow noodles. (2 1/2 inches by width of fabric)

After washing and pressing your fabric, cut your 2 1/2" noodles by WOF (width of fabric). You will cut out 3 narrow noodles for each of your three partners. In total you will be cutting 9 noodles.

Just think of how happy you will be when you get 3 envelopes containing 3 different fabric noodles!

The requirements:

  1. All Fabric must be Quilt Shop Quality, 100% cotton. Please wash and iron before cutting. We don't want any surprise bleeds, runs or puckering that can happen when using unwashed fabric.

  2. Please try to be very careful when cutting to make sure your strips are straight and 2 1/2" wide the entire length of the noodle. After you cut your strips, please open them out to be sure that they are STRAIGHT with no V's or curves in them!

  3. PLEASE SEND WHAT YOU WANT TO RECEIVE!! NO solids.

  4. Senders choice. Do take a look at your partners profile though to see what they might like to receive.

  5. I will allow newbies with a fully filled out profile for this swap. I know I was frustrated when I first started and no one would let me swap because I was new. BUT, if you flake or have a shady profile I will drop you. Flakers make it no fun for everyone.

Swap on!

This sounds like fun! So basically they have to be 2 1/2" wide by WOF long? Ive never made or used noodles, but I have made "scrappy" quilts and pincushions.

In the beginning you say 2 1/2 inches by wtf then #2 says 5 inches. Please, which is it?

mariaisabel 03/16/2010 #

Im still confused, they have to be 21/2 wide by WOF long?

you got it...thats right @mariaisabel ..2 1/2 inches by WOF long. (about 44 inches)... a long thin narrow noodle.

Oh, I'd love to get some of these, but I don't have any full width pieces of fabric--I've been buying only 1/4 yds and fat quarters for all the block swaps lately, and nothing left is full length--so I'd be shorting out my partner. bummer! :( Maybe next time!

@twobluecrows ..i have run into that same problem..i've been quilting like crazy these days and used up all of my long full width strips...guess i will have to go shopping...

Im joining! I bought the most fabulous fabric the other day. Im only using around 1/2 yd so I got some to swap!
