Description:

I hosted this swap once before, last year, and it was so much fun that I'm doing it again!

I LOVE making origami lucky stars, and if you do too, or if you love origami and would like to learn how to do these, join in!

For this swap, you will have one partner. You will send this partner one container full of lucky stars. The stars can be any color, varying sizes, and the jar can be creative (for instance, a glass salt shaker, little jam jar, apothecary bottle; or a simple baby food jar) and you may leave it plain (ie, not decorated).

With your jar of stars, please include some extra strips (20 or so) for your partner to make more stars. These could be store-bought, pre-cut, or you can cut them yourselves. Here's a template for making your own: lucky star paper template

This is U.S.-only, as postage can get a bit high depending on what type of container you use. You must have a 4.9 rating with at least a few actual mail item swaps under your belt, and no recent no-sends (if you have less than a 4.9 rating, but a good reason, pm me). I will also check to see that you've logged in within the last week before the date of partner assignment.

Have fun!

Here's a tutorial, if you need reminding: how to make an origami lucky star

Holy... that's a lot of stars. Good thing I love making these!

: )

The jar in the picture is my insane jar full of a thousand or so--but a teeny little jar with 20 or 30 stars is totally fine too!

Watching for sure and seeing if I can even make them..lol..I've always wanted to do origami...

leahsimone 02/ 3/2010 #

mizrose--once you get the knack, it's so much fun! there are other tutorials online too.

I'm currently working on ridding myself of non-needed scrapbooking paper by making it all into stars! :D

leahsimone 02/ 3/2010 #

Japhia--I've done that too, and I think scrapbooking paper really works well, especially the thinner paper!

I decided to start over the snowed in weekend and I've already filled my jar!!! I think I'm going to fill another just for fun!

Aren't they incredibly addicting? I found the nicest little jars for mine, too. Must. make. more.

I would really like to join but am a newbie. I've joined just in case you will let me participate. Feel free to block me if it is necessary to have participated in swaps.

Hope there's another one of these soon! I don't have enough swaps yet, but maybe if there's another one next month. I certainly have the origami stars.

Hi onelovelygurl and Pickly, this time around I'm going to keep it as per the specifications as stated above, but don't be put off--I will definitely host another one so keep an eye out when you have some more ratings!

happy swapping to both!
