Description:

This is a quick and easy swap ! I have been having fun creating some pretty straight pins and I would love to get some new ideas from others. Let’s create some fancy straight pins to trade! I love decorated straight pins and they are great to display on your favorite pin cushion.

You can decorate them with beads or polymer clay or anything else that I haven’t thought of. Let’s make a dozen pins and trade six each to two partners. You make a dozen pins and get a dozen different ones back from two people.

Clear as mud? Two partners, six straight pins to each.

Please package your pins carefully, wrap some thin cardboard around them. They should still fit and mail in a regular envelope though making this an inexpensive swap to ship!

You must have a good swapping record to participate. Please have completed and been rated for at least 10 mail swaps and have a rating of at least 4.9. If you are a newbie and reeeeaaalllyy want to participate, send me a message and I will do a private pin swap with you.

Just for reference, I don't think there are any restrictions on sending pins and needles overseas. I have sent and received both between UK and US over many years. :-)

Really!? I heard in another swap that there were.....if there are not then I would love to make this International, especially since it will be so inexpensive to mail. I will check into that. Thanks!

What are you using for the pin part itself?

Ky 01/19/2010 #

You can usually find extra long straight pins at any store that sells sewing supplies. I found some at JoAnns. Then I used different bead combinations that I liked and Super-Glue. (Tip- when you get Super-Glue on your fingers, you can use an emery board to take it off! :-) Also, this picture is not very clear but it is also on my Flickr and you can see the pins a little better there.

Okay, the advice I got is that it is okay to send pins overseas so I edited the swap to make it International!
