Geez. You make it sound like Newbies are a plague. Guess you never were one.

@dkay I didn't read anything negative towards newbies in the text description of this swap.

There is A LOT of flaking in the kawaii swapping community and sadly, a good amount of that flaking is done by newbies. That isn't to say ALL newbies are bad of course (we were all there once), just that I've seen quite a few newbies in kawaii swaps flake. In fact, I've been flaked by a few myself.

Try not to take it so personally. ;)

Thanks Irene for your words. Dkay is probably a newbie and has no idea of how many flakers is possible to meet here. So far, no one has been flaked in one of the swaps I coordinate and this is due to my strict swap requirements. Since I feel responsible towards participants on my swaps and I waant them all to be satisfied and enjoy the swaps I organize, I prefer not to admit newbies. I am not the only one, though. Sorry if it may hurt someone's sensibility but there's no other choice to make it safe.

no, i dont think that dkay wanned to sound that harsh.. its just that i am sort of a newbie and i totally understand how bad it must feel not to get your package and you gave your best to make your package perfect and personal.. the only bad thing about these strict rules is that some of us newbies, with all the best intentions, have to search for appropriate instead of actually wished-for swaps.. and to do 35 of the -appropriate- swaps IS a lot.. But i guess you know all about those already..

IMO 35 required swaps is not too bad for this price ranged swap. Pens themselves can get expensive ($1-4 per pen, so&so many pens to fill the case) and to get the case from San-x or some Japanese brand or other can cost you up to $15 just for the case itself (with/without the shipping, tax, etc.). So this could be a pretty pricey swap someone is risking so the requirements are protecting the majority. There is also no specification on whether all 35 swaps had to be snail mail and/or ELECTRONIC swaps either.

And definitely agree on the kawaii swaps attracting the most swap-lifters (even for a few sheets of memo paper?! Why?). BUT there ARE swaps geared towards newbies and there ARE those willing to do one-on-one swaps detailed to whatever you wanted to swap :D
