Description:

A Parcel of Postal Goodness, Inside & Out #2
Inside
Send your partner a small parcel of postal goodness, containing at least 3 items that are in some way mail art or postal related. The items can be handmade, store-bought, vintage, 2nd hand, salvaged/re-purposed or any mixture. The list below gives some examples, but is not all-encompassing: feel free to send any 3 items that are mail art or postal related – include an explanatory note, just in case your thought processes aren't obvious to your partner!

  • An ATC
  • A zine (art/craft/mail art/correspondence related)
  • A notecard with envelope or letterset (2 writing sheets with envelope)
  • A set of envelopes (minimum 4, of legally mail-able dimensions; not plain white/brown)
  • Mailing labels (a strip or sheet)
  • Faux postage (a small sheet, e.g. A5 or half-size – or the equivalent number of loose stamps)
  • Address labels
  • Envelope seals
  • A rubber stamp
  • An ink pad
  • Salvaged papers to use as a writing set (minimum 5 half-size/A5 sheets but can be larger)
  • Vintage postcards (stamped & written or unused)
  • An address book
  • A book or magazine that is in some way mail or postal-related

The following items should only be included in your package if your partner's profile suggests they would appreciate them, or included in addition to your 3 items.

  • Used postage stamps
  • Store-bought postcards
  • Free mailing/customs labels from your Post Office
  • Stickers

Outside
The outside of your envelope/package should be as fun to receive as the inside. This can be as simple as adding your own faux postage/artistamps to the outside, to decorating an entire envelope with your choice of artwork, to packaging in a handmade envelope of some kind, or sending within some kind of 'container' that you would not normally see mailed. Be creative!

Swap requirements

  • Items may be vintage/second hand but must still be in good/useable condition.
  • You may re-gift items, but make sure that the original artist is credited.
  • The swap is sender's choice, but please put in some thought, & try to make your partner smile.
  • The outside of your envelope/package must be in some way decorated and/or creative.
  • 2 partners = 2 Parcels of Postal Goodness sent, and 2 Parcels of Postal Goodness received.

The obvious bit
You already had to have a rating of 4.9+ with no recent no-sends, 1s or 3s to join this group anyway, so the same stands for this swap. But I will still double-check before assigning partners, so if you have what you feel is an unfair comment or rating, just PM me & we can try to work it out. :-)

I think I am just overly exhausted right now but...

what is the difference between this one and the first inside out swap?

Do you mean the first Parcel of Postal Goodness swap that I hosted last November? Or the current Mail Me Some Mail Art Swap?

There isn't really any difference from the first postal goodness swap; it's just the second in a series.

The main difference between this swap and the mail art swap is that the mail art one is specifically for handmade items, because some people prefer only handmade things (/don't want to receive store-bought items in exchange for items they have made themselves); whereas this Parcel of Postal Goodness can contain any mixture of handmade, store-bought, vintage, 2nd hand, or salvaged/re-purposed items.

Does that help clarify? You're right, they are similar, but they are also different! :-)
