Many of us will be knitting and/or crocheting for the fall/winter/ holidays.What to do with the scraps?- Why not make a dotee? It can also e woven of yarn,just not a fabric/cloth dotee. You will knit or crochet a dotee,with hair,face (can be worked in the strip or make a seperate round circle of yarn),tail and hanger,4-6 inches long. **** I have changed this to allow you to put a round circle felt face ,if this is easier for you.********* You are only allowed up to 3 non yarn items or embellishments on your dotee.,if any. Tail could be a small ball of yarn or braided yarn for example. This should be fun and creative! Open to newbies and people with good standing. I will ban and also angel if needed.

I would love to do this... I'm all up for anything crocheting or knitting. do you have some sort of pattern/ideas?? I love to knit, but can't just make up things on my own yet (hope to be able to do this soon!!) I'll be watching!! Thanks so much

I made 3 knitted-one all white, a snowman and gathered in 2 places. Knit a stocking hat and scarf. The other I knit a rectangle I made hair,then flesh colored face, striped shirt and plain pants. You could make one rectangle and join in back,or 2 rectangles and sew tog. You can determine gauge by making sample pieces. Some people know how to put patterns in their items also, I`m not that talented. Look at your reg dotees and see how big to make face. etc. Hope this helps. If not pm me.............

this is such a good idea. I would probably be better at the crocheting than sewing, lol. I'll be watching this one :)

Oh my gosh.....this sounds so awsome:)) Never thought of crocheting a dotee before:))) Could be use a standard felt face or does the face have to be made with yarn?
