Description:

This swap calls for you to crochet a manly scarf, something to keep him warm this winter in style!

Sender's choice of pattern and type of yarn. Please post here about allergies and color preferences. Make your partner happy and check back here before starting your scarf.

This would make a nice gift, so put some effort into it please. That doesn't mean that it can't be simple and still be attractive. Just send something your partners will love to receive!

There are patterns all over the internet, but I made a simple scarf for hubby last year that he really likes. So here is the pattern:

With 2 skeins of a flecked medium gray, worsted-weight acrylic yarn and an H or I hook, chain 200. Then I did rows of HDC in the back loops only for 12 rows. Be careful not to lose stitches when you turn:) This made a 72" long scarf, about 5" wide. I crochet loosely, so adjust pattern as necessary. This pattern makes a nice rib pattern. Very simple, very easy, looks great!

FYI I did NOT add fringe. Come on! On a man's scarf? Well, if you want, but....

4.8 or higher for this swap. Newbies welcome, must PM me before joining. Be sure to protect your item when shipping. We want it to make it to our partners safe and sound.

Anyway, you will have 5 weeks to work on this project. Start early and do a little here, a little there. I love portable projects! Happy Swapping!

EDIT: I am happy to help some fairly new swappers get started here on swap-bot. I will angel this swap, if necessary.

Not sure if I'll join this, but I wanted to mention that I made a scarf (unfringed - LOL!) for my brother-in-law last year from plain black suede-like yarn, and he LOVED it. It's soft around the neck, and looks very luxurious.

Black suede, nice! Scarves make awesome gifts!

The picture above looks almost exactly like my husband's scarf! I think the next one will be for my brother.

I'd love it if we can get at least 4 people in the swap. If you have any questions, please PM me or post it here. Thanks!

Excited for this swap! My hubby is not particular about yarn material and has no allergies, and he would prefer dark or neutral colors (but he has a scarf in navy blue already that he likes, so maybe a different color!). :)

Hi Lady Stephanie - I just joined SwapBot and was interested in participating in this swap. I know you said to personal message you, but I can't seem to figure out how to do so and I know the deadline for joining this one is ending tomorrow. Please let me know if it's ok for me to participate when you get a chance. You can see some of my previous craft projects on my profile if you'd like to, as well. I apologize if posting here is inappropriate and I'll delete this comment right away if you'd like. Thanks so much, and I hope to hear from you soon!
