Description:

OK folks, let's try this one again because I know it should be a lot of fun! Here are the rules: 1) NO NEWBIES. 2) No rating under 3 for the past 2 months. If you've received a 1,2 or 3 and wish to discuss it, please send me a note. 3) I am going to limit this swap to 51 participants. Once that number has been reached I am closing this swap and finalizing the send dates. My promise to you is that I will do my best to weed out anyone I don't think meets the qualification standards of the swap, those with poor ratings, those who have a history of flaking, or anyone who does not have a complete profile filled out. I also promise to send out 2 reminders about this swap as the send date approaches. Ayne is also helping with this swap so you can send her questions as well. I CANNOT promise to angel if you get flaked on.....the best I can do is send copies of the pictures I took but they will not be in a nice photo album or in anything very creative. If you are willing to angel, if the need arises, please let myself or AynE know. I will dedicate my time and effort to the partner I am assigned. There will be a minimum of 12 photos of your city/town during the "winter" months. You can put them in a photo album, scrapbook or something other than just sending the pictures in an envelope. You can also embellish as little or as much as you'd like, but try to add a few personal touches by reading over your partner's profile.

So I just want to be clear I understand the swap, we are to send 12 pictures of our town during winter months. Are they to be in an album or scrapbook? Pictures or anything, any size? Just want to be sure I understand!

BeautifulMess 09/ 7/2009 #

and since when was winter in October?

imlilanglnot 09/ 7/2009 #

yeah, the timing for this seems a little off...

LOL....apparently you are unfamiliar with Alaskan! Reason is...When I get 51 people signed up, I will close the swap..if that happens next week, it gets closed...if it happens by mid December, I will close it then. I am pretty sure that winter will start (in half the hemisphere) by November/December. The October date is merely a guideline for right now.....the actual send out date will be in mid to late January. I just need to play with the months until I get the required # of people signed up.

renees....I'd like to have something a little nicer than just the pictures....12 is the minimum amount and you can go hog wild on how elaborate and intricate you want. Homemade albums, store bought albums, in scrapbook form...you can include other things as long as you make sure the minimum 12 pix are included. I sent along a Chamber of Commerce picture in my summer city/town swap. I want to leave the creativity part as wide open as I can so folks can work in the medium they like. Of course you'll need to check your partners profile for hints and ideas...I hope this helps, if not please let me know!!

oops.... I did mess up with the dates, sorry. I changed them. Seems like winter has already started here anyways :)

I just finished a Photograph Your City swap and I truly enjoyed the process of taking the photos, making the project and receiving my album. I can't wait to share my beautiful city in the stark contrast of winter. I'm in.

How many swaps have to have been completed to not be a newbie anymore?

rbd5050 09/23/2009 #

Normally at least 15....if there have been completed photography swaps I will definitely consider that person

I worked so hard last time and didn't get anything in return. It was dissapointing. I think you are smart to make a limit on the amount of people. Even make it a group project so people are more committed. Good luck on this. I will pass this time around,

rbd5050 10/26/2009 #

Marata, yes, that is why I wanted to do this one, I was flaked on to, but the lady I sent to was wonderful enough to send me copies of her pictures. I'd love to have you join but I understand why you chose to pass.

HEY!!!!!!!!! Please notice that I changed the sign up date. I am hoping to get a few more people signed up. I promise not to change it again! Thanks!!!

rbd5050 11/ 2/2009 #

FYI....there was an individual who has signed up but is a newbie. I have asked that person to remove their name from the swap as they do not meet the required number of completed swaps. I will wait a few days to see if they remove themselves but just for everyone to know, I am aware they do not meet the requirements and I am giving them a chance to remove themselves rather than for me to have to ban them from the swap. Thanks!

AAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH this SUCKS!!!! LOL going on 3 WEEKS of steady rain, daylight from 10 AM to 5 PM (geeeee when I am at WORK) and NO SNOW. gonna be a Blitzkrieg of taking pix if we ever get some snow.

Morte 01/14/2010 #

Blast, if I had noticed this swap I would have gotten in on it. Well, as a swap outsider, I'll help angel if y'all need it. Chicago in the winter is a beautiful place....

rbd5050 01/14/2010 #

Thanks Morte! Not sure if your mom has told you how (relatively) WARM it has been here....sheesh.....I was kinda counting on the snow for this swap!!!!!!!!!!
