Description:
This swap is for people with scores of 4.9 or higher. Newbies are welcome, but please email me before you join. I will be checking profiles. In this swap, you will have 1 partner and you will send 1 reusable bag that is large enough to be used for groceries. What CAN be sent: Thrifted bags/repurposed bags - from thrift stores, resale shops, etc. Handmade bags large enough for groceries and shopping. Purchased reusable grocery bags, like Envirosac or something like that (see exceptions below). The bags can have logos. Basically, this bag needs to be sturdy enough to be reusable for groceries and retail items. What CANNOT be sent: Please DO NOT send those .99 - 1.99 reusable bags that you can get at groceries and pharmacies. They are reusable, but they tend to be flimsy and do not last a long time - adding to the landfill. *Plastic bags. This should be a no-brainer, but you never know. This swap's purpose is to send your partner something they can use for a long while. These bags can be thrifted, like I mentioned before, but make sure they are canvas or some other sturdy material (good fabric, crocheted, knitted, etc.). I'm not going to set a price limit, because some thrifted items might be below it, but make sure it is of good quality. Oh, and this is US only. Okay. That's it. Enjoy!

hi! i know everyone is against the giant super stores, but i HAVE to say that i picked up a couple of walmarts black cloth bags for 99 cents and have been using them for over a year, and i make those cashiers STUFF 'em full...even full of cans, they are still holding strong (knock on wood...) i just wanted to say that cheaply priced is not always flimsy (although probably made in china anyway...)

I used to be a cashier at Walmart, and if you take care of them the walmart bags can last a long time, but if you launder them they pill like everything.

I am actually a really big fan of the fused plastic ones they have a Target, they recycle their own bags to make them, totally awesome!

Great idea for this swap. At Trader Joes store they have some fun inexpensive eco bags. They are colorful ones. Some of the cheap ones do shrink after being laundered. Basically wash your bags. I'm looking forward to this fun swap.

fleasha- Fused plastic CAN be sent. I just put plastic on there, so no flimsy bags or trash would be sent (not that it would be). I think fused plastic is great. It is pretty sturdy and reuses materials. So, send away.

Everyone- Also, I'm not "against" the bags you get at the big stores or pharmacies. I have a few of them myself. But, they are not the MOST sturdy ones out there. I've had a few rip and tear apart on me. I'm sure there are exceptions. However, the purpose of this swap is to put some care and thought into what one sends a partner. It's hard to know if one of those bags is going to rip or not, so let's stick to the sturdier ones.

Great on the fused plastic. I'm watching this until closer to the date.

I use all sorts of reusable bags. my latest thing, though, is making reusable t-shirt totes. They are pretty sturdy as well.

I'm excited for this swap! Just an FYI for my future partner...a Hello Kitty grocery bag would earn you a heart for sure!! :o)
