This swap series will help us to finish out the year with an attitude of worship! Jesus is the Reason for the Holiday Season, so let’s keep our hearts and minds on Him this Christmas! Read the recommended Bible passages and the Christmasy blurb below. Send your partner a letter or notecard answering the questions at the end of this post.

Bible passages to read and reflect on this week:

Luke 2:10

Luke 2:20

The shepherds were, understandably, terrified when the angel first appeared to them. It was the last thing they were expecting on that quiet winter night! But as soon as they heard the news, they ran to Bethlehem to see Jesus for themselves. And then they returned “glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen.” Advent is a pensive season, a time to reflect on the past year and quietly prepare your heart for Christ’s coming. But that does not mean we should miss out on the joy that some with it. God gave His Son of us. Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected for us. And when He comes again, it’ll be for us. Talk about tidings of great joy! Let’s take a moment and do what the shepherds did on that first Christmas morning: glorify and praise God for his good, good news. Let His joy wash over you today!

What brings you joy during the Holiday season?

What do you think is the most joyous part of the Nativity Story?

What are you praising God for today?
