Description:

Dear Lovers of Letters,

Let’s travel back to a time of elegance and refinement, when handwritten letters were crafted with care, and correspondence was an art form! This Victorian Letter-Themed Swap will let you experience the charm of a bygone era, where each participant will write and send a Victorian-inspired letter to their partner. ✉️

Swap Details:

•You will have 1 partner.

•Ratings of 4.98+ and no recent 1s or 3s (I will be checking!).

•Newbies welcome on the condition your profile is well fleshed out.

•You will have two weeks from the sign up deadline to put together and mail your parcel.

What to Include in Your Victorian-Themed Swap:

✒️ Handwritten Victorian-Style Letter: Write a beautiful, Victorian-inspired letter to your partner. Use elegant stationery or parchment-like paper, and write with a fountain pen or in a style reminiscent of the Victorian era. Your letter can be about:

•A fictional narrative from a Victorian setting (you could role-play as a character from that time)

•A personal letter in the style of old-fashioned correspondence (discussing the weather, news of the day, or a “journey” you’ve taken)

•Or a poetic reflection, as the Victorians often enjoyed a touch of romanticism.

🕯️ Victorian Extras: To enhance the experience, include at least 3 Victorian-themed items such as:

•Vintage-style stamps or wax seals

•Elegant bookmarks or pressed flowers

•Lace, ribbons, or Victorian ephemera

•A small sketch or silhouette art

•Victorian-style postcards or calling cards

•A sample of a floral or spiced tea blend popular in the era (like Earl Grey, lavender, or rose tea)

🍂 A Touch of Time Travel: Seal your envelope with a wax stamp or ribbon for an authentic Victorian touch. Decorate your envelope or package with a classic, vintage flair—think intricate floral designs, muted tones, or lace embellishments.

Packaging and Presentation:

•Securely package your swap with care, ensuring your letter and extras are safe.

•Consider using parchment-like envelopes, lace ribbon, or wax seals to bring the Victorian aesthetic to life.

•Include your swap title and username inside the letter so your partner knows who their correspondence is from!

Important to Note:

•Stick to the Theme: Ensure everything in your swap reflects the Victorian era—think elegance, refinement, and a touch of nostalgia.

•Timely Mailing: Send your swap by the deadline to ensure everyone can enjoy the delight of receiving a Victorian-style letter.

•Attention to Detail: Choose high-quality items that reflect the thoughtfulness of a time when letters were cherished.

Shouldn't this be type 3 swap? not type 1 - electronic as mentioned here?

Thanks for pointing that out to me - I've just rectified it now!

For all participants: I have pushed this swap back by quite a margin, as we are likely moving quite imminently. I completely understand if the date changes mean you cannot commit to this swap, though!
