In this swap, you'll be hand-drawing 5 playing cards on the blank side of 3" x 5" index cards for the game "1000 Blank White Cards." The rules are here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1000BlankWhite_Cards#Game The game play is pretty standard--you deal 5 cards from a deck, then each player draws one and plays one. The cards may have point values (positive or negative), contain new rules (e.g. draw two cards each turn instead of one) or create special conditions (e.g. one player must stand for the rest of the game). Those are all tame examples, however. Our family's favorite cards are the ones which require performance. Here are some examples: --behave like a gorilla for 30 seconds to get 50 points --player must speak in a British accent for the remainder of the game --All players tell their most depressing birthday story, the winner (loser) gets 500 points --If you made your bed today, get 100 points --Name the subtitles of all 9 Star Wars movies for 100 points each --Tsunami card wipes out everyone's points, except the bearer of the Devil's Bargain card (which doubles all point values, but prevents a win unless you can cancel it out with the Guardian Angel card). You can see the game can get a little convuluted and silly. We've been playing for years, and my family adores it. We have many cards which immortalize good times, mutual interests, and inside jokes. It's a bit like a scrapbook you can play. ARTISTIC TALENT IS NOT NECESSARY. Each card must simply contain a title, picture, and instructions (a point value, rule, requirement, etc.) Cards can be black-and-white (pen on paper) or color (pencil, marker, etc.) but please no graphite pencil (rubs off and fades which shuffling) or crayon (spreads wax to other cards). Please also no stickers or other embellishment which would interfere with shuffling and dealing. Please look online if you need suggestions or message me for ideas. I will Angel if necessary. |
