Description:

I have seen swaps on here for kids, pets and husbands. However I have yet to see a swap for our mums! I would like now to host a swap where you send to your partners MUM.

When you sign up, please list in the comment section what you think your mum would like to receive in the mail! But dont ask your mum, as this should be a surprise for her!

It can be handmade or storebought stuff. Send a minimum of 4 items please! You can send more if you like, esp if the items are small! Do'nt spend too much money either , do not spend more than $10! But minimum $5.

In the package, include a note saying who you are and that this package is a surprise from a swap your daughter joined!

When partners are assigned, please check who sends to you, and PM her/him with your mothers address!!

Must have successfully have completed at least 10 swaps, not counting email swaps. No 1's or recent 3's!

Average rating must be 4.9

ADDED: Regarding rating... If you are close to your mum I am sure she will tell you right away if she gets a package from your stranger. You might wonder how to give a heart for this swap? Well , judge from the tone of your mums voice when she is telling you, does she seem thrilled about the package??

I am sure my mum would be thrilled to receive:

  • Recipes ( esp appropriate to one single living person, she is not vegetarian but she usually cooks without meat, so any meatless recipes she will glad about I think)
  • Chokolate - she loves chokolate!
  • She is very interested in history, especially the Viking era. So anything historic, like a postcard, magazine, small book, anything really.
  • She loves knitting, so I am sure knitting patterns or yarn would be a hit!
  • Handmade greeting cards she can use to send to relatives and friends (she always asks me for cards she can use)
  • She loves lipsticks!!
  • She is also purse/handbag crazy, so a small one would be just perfect:)
  • A burned copy of the latest Bruce Springsteen CD
  • She could never pass up a crime novel (can be used of course) The novel must be in English, Norwegian, Swedish or Danish.
  • She loves anything handmade that can be framed and hung up!

  • Oh forgot to say, my mum also loves necklaces!

My Mom's likes and dislikes are on my profile, but here are a few ideas:

  • Chocolate (caramilk, coffee crisp, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, nothing with nuts or coconut please)
  • Sudoku and similar books
  • She could really use a new pair of reading glasses (200 or higher strength, smaller lenses prefered)
  • Slippers (women's size 10)
  • Gardening magazines or books
  • Decorating books or magazines
  • Dotees (she loves dotees and similar type dolls, esp. gardening or fairies)
  • Horror Movies of any sort (burned are perfect, she loves everything old and new)
  • St. Christopher pendant (if you have one you never wear, she's been wanting one for about 40 years or so)
  • Cookies or similar sweet things
  • Chips or snack crackers in cheese flavors
  • Soft cotton tshirt or tank top in Large (used is prefectly fine, as long as it is clean and not full of holes; she prefers greens, blues, earthy colors, nothing too girly or bright)

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Sorry, reading glasses have different strengths - she needs a higher number (the ones she has are a low one, about 100 or so, not sure what that equates to, but the higher the better). Thanks!

OH I forgot, my mother also loves Suduko and other similar Puzzles, however avoid anything word themed as she isnt so sufficient in english ( I am trying to get her to read more english though)

Such a great idea, she'll be SO surprised...I'm in! ^-^ Some ideas: * dark chocolate * local spices (don't hold back on red peppers, she can take quite a lot :P) * cute gardening gloves * flower seeds * socks (she wears a European size 36 and prefers natural colors such as cream, olive green, brown etc) * kitchen towels

I'm sure I can come up with a lot more, but seeing the send date is late May...just contact me and I can tell you more :)

Here are some ideas for my mother, who lives in California:

-anything you have made yourself-

-Charming accent for her garden bed (gnome, carved wood, etc)

-Kitchen towels

  • Anything with a chihuahua on it

  • pecans and other nuts, salted

  • pretty tote bag

-Edible treat, a speciality of your area

-a garden magazine even if it's not in English (that would make it special, not it English!)

-Handmade envelopes

  • Socks/slippers

Thank you!

Greeting cards are a good one indeed! She loves sending cards, so handmade or store bought...she'll like them all :)
