Poetry Journal Fall 2021 USA

Choose a journal, composition notebook or a regular notebook. Please, nothing smaller than a pocket notebook…

REQUIRED:

WHEN YOU ARE DONE WITH YOUR JOURNAL, YOU MUST SEND A MESSAGE OR EMAIL YOUR SWAP PARTNER THE TRACKING NUMBER.

OPTIONAL: You are more than welcome to decorate your journal entries, but it is not required.

JOURNAL REQUIREMENTS:

• On the first page of your journal, you will WRITE or TYPE a full page one-sided something about yourself (BONUS: write it in a poem form –not required ;-) ). You will also answer: why do you like poetry?

Your journal will contain 30 entries! Each entry MUST contain the ‘Title of the Poem’ and ‘the name of author’ (with the exception of the poems written by you). Please READ BELOW:

REQUIREMENTS:

• Find 10 of your “favorite” poems and must be handcopied by you, meaning you will handwrite word for word 10 favorite poems in your journal. LIMIT of 2 haikus for this portion, this is so that we are not just receiving poems because it’s taking too long to write… Each entry MUST contain the ‘Title of the Poem’ and ‘the name of author.’

• Find 5 different poems written by a ‘female poet.’ Please try and find different poems from different poets, not 5 different poems from 1 poet. Poems can be cut from a newspaper, magazine, typed, photocopied or mixed media. LIMIT of 1 haiku for this portion. Each entry MUST contain the ‘Title of the Poem’ and ‘the name of author.’

• Find 5 different poems written by a ‘male poet.’ Please try and find different poems from different poets, not 5 different poems from 1 poet. Poems can be cut from a newspaper, magazine, typed, photocopied or mixed media. LIMIT of 1 haiku for this portion. Each entry MUST contain the ‘Title of the Poem’ and ‘the name of author.’

• 5 poems must be written by you. Yes, original poems written by you. You can choose whatever poetry style you want as long as it’s written by you. Poems can be handwritten by you or typed, or you can glue that napkin with the poem you wrote at the bar, whatever, as long as it’s written by you. No poetry line limit, just be you!

• Find 5 poems written by a local poet in your area or bordering state. Poems can be cut from a newspaper, magazine, typed, photocopied or mixed media, whatever you choose it must be written by a local poet. (ie I live in WI, so I could find poets in the Midwest Area – Illinois, Michigan, Iowa, etc.)
