Description:

Being a mother is the most challenging job on the PLANET sometimes! This swap is for the mothers out there, especially for mothers whose children are so small that all they will be getting for mother's day is a crayon-drawing and a sprouted bean seed that the Kindergarten teacher sent home. :) But you don't have to have small children to join.

For this swap you will have one partner. You will read their profile and use the information in their profile to send them a mother's day gift that they will swoon over! Gift can be handmade or storebought, but should be in the $10-$15 range. You can send one item or several items, as long as the total value is $10-$15 US. Read your partner's profile and aim for hearts!

Now, when you receive your package you are NOT allowed to open it until Mother's Day. Sunday, May 13. No exceptions, no excuses and NO PEEKING! :)

The fine print: I can't possibly angel out swaps in time for Mother's Day if anyone flakes, and I don't want anybody sitting sadly at home with no mother's day present to open, so I'm going to set extra-tough guidelines for this one. USA only, due to the time frame. Anyone with ratings less than 4.8 will be banned - unless they email me with a very good explanation. If you have ever not sent a swap or are currently late on a swap, don't sign up for this one. Obviously, you must have a filled out profile to participate.

Hi Everybody, I just wanted to let you all know that I will be offline for a few days due to a family situation, but I will be back just before the swap begins. If there are any concerns, feel free to email me, but I will not be able to get back to you over the next several days! Thanks for understanding!

I'd love to do this Mother's Day swap! I have 3 children and 3 grandchildren...3 years ago, I had a stroke and they were beautiful along with my husband. Thank you

Hi Everybody, I'm back in town. There were a few inquiries about this swap in my email, but I think I responded to them all. If you didn't hear from me, please email again! It's almost time for this swap to start! I'm so excited! :)

Hi Everybody, I've been peeking at profiles . . . Please, please, please make sure that your profile is filled out IN DETAIL! That way your partner will have some clues and be able to send you a present that you love! :) Thanks!

okay - i was thinking about my how my profile makes little mention of my kiddos! hee hee - I was liking this being a space where i wasn't viewed as a mama 1st but as something else.

anyway - i have 4 children - 16, 15 AND 13 yr old DAUGHTERS (oy vey!) AND a 4 1/2 yr old son nicknamed the Oy-child - the last "real" gifts my children bought for me w/o my knowledge or assistance were a kaboodle's bath set & a towel for wrapping my hair in (i swear!)

i hope my profile is complete enough for my buddy to be able to figure out what would rock my mother's day

I just spent some time checking out my buddy's profile and think i have some really good ideas about who she is.

I love playing detective and trying to figure out who my partner is! I hope everybody has fun sleuthing around spoiling their partner!

Kiakiali - I laughed when I read about your most recent mother's day gift! I have one of those towels to wrap your head in too! Except mine was a BIRTHDAY present! LOL!

My oldest daughter is only 2 1/2 so I'm not very experienced at being on the receiving end of Mother's day yet, but last year I was pregnant and I got a foot bath (that I asked for) except it was broken and we had to return it to the store. By then we had 2 mortgage payments and I felt guilty to spend money on something so frivilous and so I never replaced it. Oh! And my daughter (who was only 1) used it before I had a chance to and promptly had a bowel movement in it! So I had to clean bowel movement out of my new footbath on mother's day before I even got to use it! LOL! (The little accident was unrelated to why we had to take it back to the store, and yes, I told them at the store what had happened!) The year before that, my 8 year old neighbor made one of those plaster molds of my daughter's feet, but she stuck so many beads in it that you couldn't actually see the impression of the baby's feet. Then the whole thing molded and I threw it out! So . . . That is how this swap got born. :)

What about the rest of you . . . What are some of the more memorable mother's day presents you have received in years gone by? :)

Let's see... usually I get chocolate if I'm on a diet. Taken out to dinner (if I'm on a diet). A card. (which I've been known to eat if I AM on a diet!)

My second mother's day present was the best, though. It was late, by about two weeks, because hubby waited until our daughter was born to give me a necklace with both kids' birthstones in it. (Now, before you say aww... how sweet, you should probably know that I told him that's what I wanted, and kinda helped him pick it out.)

Ah... husbands - eternally clueless...

Ok, my package is sealed, and just waiting for the friendly, neighborhood mailman to pick it up! Cathy, I didn't write what the swap was, I didn't want to tempt anyone with sticky fingers along the way, but remember not to open it until Mother's Day!!!

I was just thinking about this very thing this morning. I know if I don't know what a package is, then I go ahead and open it. Why don't we write "To Mom" or something like that on the outside of the package so that the recipient knows which swap the package is from and doesn't open it! :)

Boy oh boy, If my package arrives early I am going to have to give it to my husband for safekeeping. :) I don't think I would have enough patience to wait from now until Mother's Day! That's still a little ways off! :)

(But I will wait, of course!)

I keep adding to the gift... I hope you will like it a lot!
