It's essential that you send on time. Send dates are not suggestions, they are binding so please ensure you're able to fulfill swaps you join by the last date to send by.

When you've received a swap, you must rate fairly. Please rate ASAP after you received your card. Rating is necessary for hosts to keep their swaps safe. But before rating down your swap partner please contact your swap partner. You can always contact me via PM when there are any problems.

Hello 11/ 5/2019 #

I find it hard to believe that my postcard hasn't made it yet when it was sent out last Monday. Well, after my current swaps are sent out I'm joining another website and deactivating this profile. Funny how my bills never go missing nor letters to my pen pal go missing but once I joined swap-bot my letters or postcards never seem to make it. Hmm.

Hello 11/ 5/2019 #

I meant last week on Monday. Not yesterday.

@Hello I don't know who you sent to or which country, but as this is an international swap, it could be anywhere. I am from Norway, sent my postcard to my swap partner in the US. I'm assuming mine didn't arrive yet, because it might take longer than what you are used to. I am a member of Postcrossing, and sometimes a postcard from Norway to Russia, USA or China can take up to 2 months to arrive. Be patient. I see you haven't even received your rating yet, so it might still be on it's way.

I’ve found mail to be unreliable on occasion, even in the US. I’ve gotten ripped, totally saturated (how does THAT happen?) and never arrived articles of mail (rarely with Swap -bot, though ) in different cities in my lifetime. I’m still waiting for an invitation to a surprise wedding anniversary for my cousin, from over a year ago! So, don’t assume everything’s flowing readily and smoothly through the mail system. Swapbot asks for ratings after 2 weeks, but that doesn’t imply you should have received your mail, especially if it’s crossing an ocean. Some countries don’t even have mail on the weekends. Also, incoming mail won’t necessarily have the date the article was touched by the mail carrier. Even if you dropped an envelope at the PO, it may not get stamped that day; especially if it’s sorted by destination first. . Now, if your envie is dated SEVERAL days after the last send date for S-B, it may have been sent out late. But please allow for mailing issues.

Here’s an excerpt from the “HELP” section on Swap-bot.

Problem Swapper Questions What do I do if I didn't receive a swap package for a swap I participated in?

First, think about the date. Is it at least two weeks past the mail deadline? You need to allow for shipment time because not everyone sends theirs out right away, some wait until the actual deadline date.********* You may also be receiving your package from someone overseas. International packages can take a very long time to arrive, sometimes up to four, or even six, weeks. Remember that you can rate your partners at any time, so unless you have some other reason to think your partner has not sent, you should allow an appropriate amount of mail time before giving a poor rating. It is also good etiquette to contact your sending partner before rating them poorly.******

If enough shipping time has passed and you still have not received a swap, it is important to rate your partner honestly with a "1" rating. Rating non-senders honestly helps prevent them from signing up for additional swaps and warns swap coordinators about their past swapping behavior.

Not receiving a swap package can be a huge disappointment. There may not be too much your swap coordinator can do to force your swap partner into sending something, but it is still very important to let your coordinator know that you never received anything so that they can ban the bad swapper from future swaps. It is also important that you give all of your swap partners an accurate rating, even if that means giving them a "1".
