Description:

Do you love the feel of a clean piece of linoleum, a new eraser or an artist's carving block? How about tackling a new stamp when the snow rolls in, it's raining cats & dogs or the winds are howling from the north! (can you tell I'm from New England?)

Put on your creative hats, dig out the carving tools and get going! This swap will involve creating 2 rubber stamps for your partner after reading his/her profile or taking a suggestion from the comment section below. The stamps should be unmounted (unless otherwise noted) and can be as complicated or as simple as you'd like. One should be of an item relevant to your partner and the second should be a background pattern of some sort. BONUS if you make a heart stamp too!

In addition please include a new (or gently used) stamp from your stash that your partner would enjoy and you don't mind parting with. I am NOT encouraging you to go out and buy anything new. (Let folks know if you use clear lucite self-mounting stamps.)

Also please add some paper that you have stamped upon (4-5 pieces) - the pieces can be small.

Add some other paper ephemera for future collages to complete your package.

You could even stamp some tissue to wrap around the finished stamps.

Be safe and have fun!

Is there a particular size requirement for the carved stamps?

What's an unmounted stamp...newbie alert!! newbie alert!!!

No requirement on size - whatever works for your fingers!

I tried to edit my swap, but apparently there are some issues at that level. This swap is for seasoned swappers and dedicated carvers! Please be sure you have at least 5 swaps under your belt, have a rating of 4.9 or higher and no record of no sends. I will check profiles and eliminate offenders! I have been burned too many times myself.

An unmounted stamp simply means that it is still in or on it's rubber, linoleum or eraser form, ie. with no wooden handle or block behind it. Many new stamps today are sold unmounted for ease of storage. Or the clear stamps, which are mounted on clear lucite--again store flat. Search google for ideas and explanations.

I've just gotten back into carving and this swap will help me keep at it! I use all kinds of stamps and I wouldn't mind those small little stamp pads if you don't have an extra stamp to send!
