Description:

This is a type 3 swap and will be International. If anyone is interested in a USA only version, please let me know and I will set up one. :) But if we can all join in on one swap, I think it can be fun. :)

For this swap, you will get a journal - small, lightweight, but nice to write in - and create a prompt journal for your partner. The journal should be no smaller than about 4x6 inches, and should have at least 30 pages. It can be lined or unlined, and it can have a spiral as long as you package it so it will not get crushed in mailing. (Spiral notebooks are so easy to find, but they don't mail well! So annoying!) If you have a travelers journal type insert that is stapled or stitched, it would work great for this swap and be lightweight to mail, even Internationally. (Standard size Travelers journal inserts are about 4x7 inches).

Note: any type of bound notebook or journal is ok for this swap, it does not have to specifically be a journal. As long as the page count & size requirements are met, you should be fine.

On the first page, write the swap name and "Made for ... By ..." with your partner's name and yours, including swap-bot ID's.

For the rest of the journal, add a prompt to the top of only one side of each page. (to give your partner room to write to the prompt on the front and back of each page.) You can hand write the prompt, you can type them out and adhere them to the page, you can do both - just make sure the prompt doesn't take up TOO much room on the page. And be careful to write or type clearly so you partner will be able to read the prompts. (some fonts are really difficult to read!)

Prompts do not need to be written. They can be picture prompts, found images. The prompt can a story start, it can be a writing prompt, it can be a top 10 style - just about anything. (Try to keep it as PG as possible, though.) You can find prompts on web sites, in books and journals - anywhere. Try to give your partner a mix of topics to write about. You should include at least 20 prompts That will give a few extra pages in case your partner wants to add to it.

You can start working on this now, or wait until partners are assigned to customize the book. Either way is fine. The notebook can be as decorated or as plain as you wish - just, of course, leave plenty of room for your partner to write. IF you get a basic booklet with written prompts, that's ok, as long as other requirements are met. (some of us - ME!!! - are not terribly artistic.)

Be sure you can mail off your journal to your partner by the send by date! I will angel this swap if something goes missing, but if you flake on a swap, you're out of the group.

If you have any questions, or if something isn't clear PLEASE SEND ME A PM and I'll respond as soon as I can. :) I'm setting this swap up on July 20th, and it won't have a send by date until early October, so there is PLENTY of time to think about and prepare. Ask questions early. :)
