Flowish Journals, Junk Journals, Loaded Envelopes. Paper Crafts

Artstamper 03/15/2019 #

I would like a zine swap. Possibly stamped or with prompts for the pages.

jenmcjen 03/15/2019 #

I love zine swaps. Also, it would be fun to create small (3x5?) junk journals for our partners, and include some things, not connected, but that they could put in it. Possibly based on a theme, or profile based. I'd like to see bird-related swaps. I love looking at those loaded envelopes, though I'm not entirely sure I'd be up to that. I just looked at the mini flowish journal and it doesn't sound mini to me. I think something like that in a 3x5 or 4x6 mini flowish type thingy would be cool (and I'd have enough stuff to do so). I think by mini you meant fewer pages, cuz I've seen one of those magazines!

HannahsMommy07 03/15/2019 #

jenmcjen … I will be doing a MINI JUNK JOURNAL and a MINI JOURNAL soon! The MINI FLOWISH … that size are extremely hard to do … or at least me and a few others have found to be. Yes, by mini a do mean fewer items … not size. Most FLOWISH swaps I do are 50 or more items. I though we had better start small.

ZINES … would be fun. I am not good at drawing, but I would be up for trying!

I have a real simple LOADED ENVELOPE that is easy to do!!!!

OH and I LOVE BIRDS!!!!! Hmmm... BIRD ATC's???

CreativeCitrine 03/15/2019 #

I like the ephemera swaps and I love decorating envelopes and sending out little notecards with a few goodies. A tag flip also sounds fun I want to try one of those. I really enjoy this group because of all the different kinds of swaps and all the junk journal stuff. The mini junk journal sounds like fun.

thequilterslink 03/15/2019 #

I would like a mini theme journal swap, everyone would list 3 themes, like cats, birds or sewing, then partner would chose which theme and fill the pages. Would also like to make a small journal with different pages, book page, cardstock, ledger paper, etc. All pages would not have to be same size .

This group does have a lot of great ideas for fun swaps and I'm so glad to be a member! I love doing the journals, zines, and handmade postcards. Decorating envelopes is great fun too! The ideas mentioned of themes sound wonderful. I have done a few 'whimsey jars' in the past, based on different themes, and I really enjoyed them. I think it would be pretty easy to fill a plastic jar or even a water bottle, with things, and it wouldn't cost as much to mail as a glass jar would. I'd like to see more flipbooks; there are so many possibilities with them. Altered items would be fun, whether it were game pieces, hardware, books, bottles, tins or whatever. I've been wanting to try some altered CD/DVD disk art. Pinterest has a ton of ideas for some really beautiful pieces! I did a swap once that was miscellaneous Naked Mail - I sent out an altered high-heeled shoe with decorations and the phrase "It's not the destination, it's the journey that counts!"; I received an altered mask with a wonderful sugar-skull design on it. These were sent without a box, just the naked object with the address and postage right on it. It was so much fun to find that in the mail! These are just a few ideas that I've had... I can't wait to see what this group comes up with next!!! Thanks!

Oops! I may have gone a teensy bit over the number you suggested.... Sorry! Just pick the four you like and ignore the rest... I got carried away with enthusiasm!!! Lol!

bjansen 03/15/2019 #

I would love to see more homage card swaps.

Even homemade postcard swaps as well

HannahsMommy07 03/16/2019 #

bjansen … we do a post card swap almost every week … KEEP IT SIMPLE

We will try some cards too!

HannahsMommy07 03/16/2019 #

Pilikat … My fellow Hoosier … you know I would expect nothing more from you then to rattle on and do more. We crazy Hoosiers just do that!

OOPS … I can't spell … Pelikat

DOES ANYONE LIKE POCKET LETTERS?

jenmcjen 03/16/2019 #

I love pocket letters but they stress me out and I can never get them done in time. I’m always worried there’s not enough stuff in it yet. I think the idea of doing a whimsy jar in a water bottle is brilliant! Oh and yes, bird ATCs, bird ATCoins, bird postcards, bird ephemera, bird stickers, bird coloring pages. Ooh did I suggest coloring ornaments or postcards? Like send 2, one I color for you and one you color for you. Not full pages but like 3x3 or 4x4 or something that would fit in that amount of space...

YooperHill 03/16/2019 #

I ❤️ The idea of a mini journal! I like HM PC with a theme, or technique. How about an art project that includes a quote about “things I know for sure.” Maybe a faux postage stamp swap? Something we can use on our envelopes. I also like swaps that require everyone to use the same image.

Cgscdy 03/16/2019 #

HD/HP art swap ( ATC size or larger) Mini PL Die Cut swap Stamped images/quotes swap

HannahsMommy07 03/16/2019 #

KEEP THE IDEAS coming... love them! Especially hearing from some I have not swapped with yet:>

CreativeCitrine 03/16/2019 #

I like doing the mini pocket letters, the full ones are a bit stressful and intimidating

MCGalaxy 03/17/2019 #

How about 6x6 about me scrapbook pages?

Or I love ATC with a more open theme like summer or your city or Easter rather than specific ones like a Dr Who or Harry Potter character

Or handmade bookmarks

Or an about my city (town) package including a map, a menu, a business card, a tourist item

HannahsMommy07 03/17/2019 #

LADIES … DO NOT FORGET TO AD YOUR COMMENTS … if you partner does not see your COMMENT … this is the same as FLAKING! THANK YOU!!!!

ittybittykitty 03/17/2019 #

Oooh I’m jumping in late but I love all of these ideas! I really like open mail art swaps, where there’s a theme and the sender can choose to make at ATC, HMPC, art journal page, deco envie, etc. whatever they like to make. So I can be a bit of a contrarian but I totally think we should have a kitchen sink/faucet theme! That way we can swap everything including the kitchen sink lol.

I also like making altered items, although those are a little time and labor intensive. Profile-based swaps are also a fun challenge.

shinyserra 03/17/2019 #

I would like to see letter swaps, writing challenges, altered things, notecard swaps, postcard swaps, handmade crafts of all sorts, adult coloring swaps.

Cgscdy 03/17/2019 #

I 100% agree with @ittybittykitty about the sink/faucet idea!!! 😂

wendrfl 03/17/2019 #

I like doing HMPC's, mini pocket letters and postcards, I've also been wanting to do one of the Whimsey Jars, I did a junk journal that was a lot of fun. There have been a lot of good ideas posted. I enjoy this group for the varied projects and things that stretch my imagination..

tentmari 03/17/2019 #

Since spring is almost here I would like to see a spring flower swap and like @jenmcjen I would like to see a bird-related swap. These could be notecard, postcard, stuffed envelope, decorated envelope, whatever.

RooBaRoo 03/17/2019 #

Please pretty please can we have a Shaker card (handmade, obviously) INTERNATIONAL swap?

& maybe a "paper & scrap" KONMARI (experience sharing/ before & after photos) swap?
