Description:

I hosted this swap last year, in another group, and it was a lot of fun. Hopefully we'll get a few takers for this one too! But, I'm a bit late with getting this set up, so it will be a short sigh-up timeline, but you'll have about 2 months to finish and send out, so hopefully it works out for everyone.

If you have any questions, please ask! If you have any interest in doing this swap, please put it on your watch list, so I can see how many are thinking about it, ok? Thanks!

There are many different holidays and observations over the winter months. No matter what you celebrate, or how little or how much you do, please join in!

This journal is fully yours. You can use any type you wish, you can write in it, smash (or magpie) it, you can draw it - all of the above, and more. It's YOUR choice. The only requirement is that you illustrate, describe or show the winter holidays (Anything from Nov 1st to January 31st) that you celebrate or observe. You can add cards you send or receive, bits of wrapping paper, copies of recipes, menus, receipts, pictures - the sky is the limit! If you have written poems or short stories about your holidays, you can include them. If you've got favorite holiday music, you can include a list of the titles.

Everything in the journal should reflect something about your winter holidays. If you celebrate a birthday in that time, and wish to include it, that's ok. But don't, say, add in Valentine's day. But, if you want to talk about different traditions you have, and why you have them, please do that. (Little warning, if you get me as a partner, you may hear the story of why we have a Barbie doll as our tree topper! :) Consider yourself 'warned'!)

For the journal, you may make your own, you may use a pre made one, make one from envelopes if you want - it's up to you. You can be as creative - or as basic - as you want. Just be sure that any glue or paint, etc, is fully dried so the pages don't stick together, and that anything you attach to the pages stays in place.
Go for a size about 4x6 (like a post card size), and you should have at least 30 pages filled.

Last year, when I did this, I kept a small box handy, and added to it regularly, things that I would like to share, and then arranged my journal every 2 weeks. I included some of the holiday stamps I got on my mail, the fronts of my holiday cards, the ribbons and wrapping paper from gifts - things like that. Also added recipes of foods I cooked and cookie recipes I used.

This swap will be International, and you will have 1 partner. I'm going to set the sign up date early, so you will be able to see who you are sending to (if you want to personalize anything) and to see where you are sending to (if it's out of the country, there may be restrictions for thickness and such, or you may wish to make it lighter to help with postage.) But, then you will have 2 months to fill it out send it out.

If you have any questions, please ask! If you're in the US, and concerned about postage and wish for a US only swap, let me know.

Ooh, I just saw this! I have a sparkly green journal just waiting to be filled up! If nobody else is interested and you want to open up a spot on your board, cancel this and we can just do this privately if you like. But I'm all in! I'll start today. I've been looking for a purpose for this little $ store journal I got. So green. So sparkly. Hmm, do I want to send it? Yes! It will be SO me!!!
