Zentangle Inspired Art Swap Series Homepage

It's Spring in most parts of the world and tangled gems are back in all their colourful glory ;) Create a lush, beautiful garden setting for your gems....

This ATC swap requires you to first look at this tutorial [ or similar ones as there are now many others available online ] created by Kae Yoshino, the original inspiration behind this technique: _http://goo.gl/Jez9vm

Please check that you have read ALL the details as the requirements for each swap in the series may vary.

This is a sender's choice swap, but please avoid religious/controversial themes. This is a type 3, International swap with a minimum rating of 4.99 and above. For interested swappers with less than 4.99, do leave me a private message for consideration.

I will angel if necessary.

The Details:

  • One partner, one ATC

  • Your string should be drawn free-hand, featuring AT LEAST ONE 'gem', in your choice of colours, just like how they are taught in the tutorials. The rest of the ATC should reflect a distinct garden theme.

  • Use a minimum of AT LEAST ONE KNOWN TANGLE PATTERN to complement your gemstone(s). [ I hate to have to be so exacting in my requirements, but of late, I have received some very sloppy work in this swap series. If you have any questions about what Zentangle is, PLEASE ASK BEFORE YOU SEND. ]

  • Fill up at least half of the ATC. More is always fine.

  • You may choose to buy or create your own ATC from your favourite art paper, bristol board, strathmore cold press, etc., just ensure your ZIA ATC is thick enough.

  • You may choose to include a sleeve for the ZIA ATC, but it is not a requirement.

  • Include a note containing: A. your SB moniker, B. swap name, C. a few lines to share with your partner, and D. quick list of tangles used in your ZIA ATC.

  • Send your ZIA ATC and note in an envie.

  • Rate your partner when you receive a ZIA ATC with a note that includes A. B. C. & D.

Have fun!!

Somehow the image won't load, despite me making sure it falls within the allowed filesize. Here is an example photo taken off my Pinterest album: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/561401909779248036/

I use a different technique to draw and color my gems can I use that or does it really have to be like the ones in the tutorial?

The image should load now. It was a glitch in Swap-bot. I believe it's fixed now.

Wow, I love the reflected light on your gems! That's among the best I've seen for beauty and realism.

@marianne81 - I use a different technique and if you look at hesedetang's CTZ site or pinterest, you can see she does, too. Hesedetang's version is better, imo, but the other is the original, so it's decent to link to it.

Thank you @DaisyNY :) yes Kae Yoshino was the CZT who popularised this technique. There have been many many others who gave it a go and there are many great techniques out there. I don't exactly know what my technique is to be honest (haha!!) because I do mine different every time ;)) Great to have you on board again xx
