Description:

This swap is for a 250-count Matchbox. You will have ONE partner to send to, and it is international.

We will be decorating our boxes in an "Attic Treasures" theme. (Think antique/vintage/victorian/shabby chic etc.) and filling them with like items.

Bits and pieces of ribbon, lace, fabric, beads, buttons, brads, jewelry, charms, embellishments, rhinestones, ephemera, handmade items, tiny dolls, little "trinkets," etc.

Anything that looks like something you might find in a trunk in your Granny's attic. :)

Please send only quality items that you would love to receive yourself. In other words, no "junk!"

Fabric pieces should be no smaller than 4" square, ribbons should be at least a foot in length, lace cut in at least 6" long pieces, beads of nice quality... you know the drill. ;)

This swap is open to swappers worldwide who have ratings of at least 4.9, have been in at least 20 swaps that are NOT e-mail swaps, and no recent no-sends.

Due to the recent major scam here on SB, I WILL be checking ALL profiles thoroughly and banning anyone who seems like a risk.

Sorry to be so strict, but I want to assure those who sign up that they will have fun and leave my swap feeling satisfied! :)

I've already been out shopping for things that would be great for this swap! I am excited to see how it turns out.

Question - do we have to go shopping for "new" things? Would it be okay if I collect things that actually came out of a trunk or box from an attic? I LOVE vintage, and have enough to share and trade for new old stuff. lol Joan

ooooo, I hope grandmaroro gets MY name as her partner to send to :0)

Crazipurplelady 12/29/2008 #

can we "make" our own box if we use the correct dimensions?

Yikes! I am behind on my replies here and I apologize for that.

I am glad to see such enthusiasm about this swap. I think it is going to be awesome and a lot of fun! :)

No, you don't have to go shopping for new things. As hoosiergirl said, I think most in this swap would be VERY happy with true vintage items. (I know I would, but either one is good for me.)

Yes, you can make your own boxes if you wish... just be sure that they are sturdy enough to get to your partner without being crushed in transit.

Thanks to everyone who signed up so far. :)

Hugs;

Mel
