Description:

This will be a series of swaps, creating ATCs in the DC universe. The next series will likely be The Avengers.

For this swap create 1 ATC for 1 partner featuring Batman

An Artist Trading Card (ATC) is a 2.5" x 3.5" small artwork. Please create your ATC with a sturdy backing and include your name/swapbot name, the date, the location you made it (e.g. California, USA) and a signature on the back.

The preference for this series is to create hand drawn/ hand painted ATCs. I will however allow other forms of creation so long as reasonable effort is put in. If you are going to use a pre-made image, please alter it in some way. Don't just put a sticker or print out on a piece of card and call it done, but create a unique artwork.

If possible, please also send your ATC in a protective sleeve of some kind (plastic pockets can usually be picked up fairly cheap from discount stores). This is not a requirement to receive a 5, but it is nice to protect these miniature artworks :)

No rating requirement as it's a group swap, however I retain the right to ban any suspicious swappers.

Please feel free to request characters or series you would like to see.

Up next - Superman!

Cool...love Batman...what's an ATC?

I should say what's it made out of...never did one before?

Hi @kweandee ATCs are so much fun! I was introduced to them a few years ago and love them. Here's a bit of a guide on them:

http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Artist-Trading-Cards

Basically you just need to have a sturdy backing cut to 2.5 x 3.5 inches. This might simply be white cardstock you intend to paint or draw on, or you can use an old playing card that is the right size, a piece of recycled cardboard etc - so long as you cover it in paper.

Then you get artistic! As mentioned above, this swap prefers hand painted/drawn ATCs, as is the preference of many swappers, but you can use collage, stamping etc or alter an image in someway if you prefer. The main thing is to make sure you have fun, and create a mini artwork you'd be happy to receive. Then put your details on the back and send it off.

The link above mentions only spending 15 minutes per card - this is definitely not a rule! By all means if you can make one quickly that's fine, but a hand-drawn ATC usually takes me up to an hour or more!

If you search 'artist trading card' or even 'artist trading card batman' and look at google images you'll see lots of variations. I hope this is something you might be interested in! Let me know if you need any more help :)

Sorry I had to unmark send and hit send again. The envelope got separated from the batch of mail it was in and was found at the bottom of my bag.
