Description:

During the winter it seems like things slow down a bit. With snow days and holidays gone by, it seems like we can finally breathe.

Now, let's use this time to create!

You will have one partner. You will create a smashbook / junk journal style book using any method you wish (a hand made journal, a composition notebook, a spiral, or even an old book altered to make something new. You will smash your daily life using lists, journal entries, drawings, etc. You can write poems, stories, or use journal topics to spark your creativity. You should also stick in a few suprises for your receiver to keep (check their profile for ideas)

Now the rules: 1. Your book should have at least 30 entries/ pages.

  1. Your finished book should be neatly bound.

  2. You should have at LEAST 3 small, profile based suprises for your person. Each page should be crammed full of stuff from your daily life or from your entry theme.

  3. You book should be 4" by 6" at LEAST!

Hello miss michelle is interested in possibly doing this if you would allow.

kgeslab 12/ 3/2016 #

Sorry missMichellesjourney. You must have ratings to do this swap.

lawchick 12/ 4/2016 #

The book and entries don't have to have a winter theme, right?

kgeslab 12/ 5/2016 #

Correct. The theme is up to you, but in the past most have written some about their daily life which includes some winter themes. But you don't have to include a winter theme. It's just DONE in the winter.

I want to be up front and honest about a new rating I just received. I hosted a summer stuffed journal swap and I recieved a 3 as a rating. Here is what happened. I started it when I lived in the Middle East. I used my American address. Well, I got stuck over there and could not leave (I was on a no-fly list) and I had no money. I also have very little internet ability. I worked really hard on that journal, but due to circumstances beyond my control I could not send it. So, instead of contacting my partner I changed the date of the swap so I would not "send late". I realize this is a bit shady, but I was in a pretty bad place. I wanted you all to know this in case you want to withdraw from the swap. I hope you won't, and now that i'm back in America for good I can promise it will not happen again. We all have issues and deserve a bit of understanding. But, what will be will be.

Is there an international or European version of this? It's such a cool idea!

kgeslab 12/15/2016 #

No, I only made a US version. Feel free to copy and paste if you'd like to create your own.

This has seriously been one of the most fun swaps I've joined. I love the journal so much I almost can't send it! (But I will) :) I have a couple more pages to go and a few finishing touches to add. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did!

kgeslab 02/25/2017 #
